Society’s Song
You
don’t exactly trust yourself
What have you done, what have you thought?
Do you deserve any credit in anyone’s eyes?
Of course you don’t
And surprise! Neither do I
Isn’t it fun to dwell in mediocrity?
Every day you do so many things
But have you ever done anything that’s made a difference?
You do the same old things day in and day out
Your life has no meaning, and surprise! Neither does mine
All we are is buried in mediocrity
In
mediocrity ignorance is fun
We never think of the consequence
In mediocrity the roads lead straight to hell
Our lives are utterly meaningless
“Why
did this happen?” you will ask, “Where exactly did my life go wrong?”
It’s all too bad that it was the minute you were born
You see, society could really care less about you
Your friends and your heroes only care about ‘me’
In
this world, selfishness is king
You never think about anyone else
And this society don’t owe you a thing
And all you owe it is your soul
There is a way out of it if you want to
All you need is a little certainty
But you won’t get it from the TV or society
They’ll just leave you with empty feelings
Have
you ever thought about why we’re here?
Where did you come from, where will you go?
Did the earth get here by accident or chance?
Well
it seems there is no way
’The odds are a trillion to one
But the people that run the world don’t want you to know
For they know that if you did
You’d see that there’s a God
And you would not worship idols any longer
