"INTO THE MILLENNIUM"

Video Review

WGIGO

This was the BSB's first video, and definitely not their best. However, the dance routine is pretty fun, as well as some of the scenes (i.e., Brian gets sprayed by his girl after he ditches her to play b-ball). A.J. look strange without his facial hair, and Brian looks noticeable younger (as does Nick). Howie is cute, but there aren't many shots of him here. All in all, the best thing about We've Got It Goin' On is when they're on stage and dancing.

QPG(WMH)

This is probably the video that cracks me up the most. Although I LOVE the song, and I also think the Boys are fine....well, you gotta see it. This is the very first video I saw of the Boys, and I only saw it once the whole time it was on MTV (until I bought the All Access video). Although none of the guys look REALLY good here (compared to their later videos), something about each of them caught my eye. It was late '97, and I was 13 years old. I had heard the song before I'd seen the video, and this was when I just started listening to music (I was in a very closed atmosphere back then). I remember loving the song, and then...the pecs. That's all I can say, and now I'm laughing my fool head off =)=)=)=)=). OK, back to business.

Brian looks his usual here, except I don't like the lightening of his hair. Or maybe it was just the film they used. Nick looks...interesting, is the only word I can think of. I remember thinking A.J. looked pretty weird with the thing around his neck, but that he too was "interesting." Kevin looked good, with and without the shades, and Howie was perfect. Now, I watched this video slightly prior to my craze for guys (hehe).

Now there's the rainy, wet shirt scene. Bodywise, only Kevin, A.J., and Howie's pecs were showing. I think they ALL looked fine there. But I still couldn't help laughing when I saw all those shots of Howie's chest (and only Howie's chest. His head was somewhere else, I guess :). And no offense to Nickluvers, but at the part when Brian is singing the refrain, but there's a bridge at the same time (after A.J.'s lines), you see Nick dancing in the rain doing some kind of wacky movements....what the heck was that??? It looked like he was practicing tai chi and ballet in the rain, lol!! But yes, I admit, I liked seeing the guys shirtless.

Everybody (Backstreet's Back)

I'll bet that ALL of you have seen this video, so I'm going to begin by making lists.

Coolest alter-ego
1. A.J.'s Phantom of The Opera & Howie's Dracula were way cool. I love it when A.J. is saying his second verse and the Phantom's face is...what do you call it? Enlarged? No, but you guys know what I mean. And Howie's vampire is really awesome. I like the "Lestat" look.
2. Brian's wolverine was great, esp. when he was doing those flips. Was that Brian doing the stunts?
3. Kevin's mad scientist was ok-looking.
4. Nick is cool, but the mummy look just didn't appeal to me.

Best-looking Boy (during the ballroom scene)
Brian & Kev. I find Kev a lot more "interesting" here than in Quit Playin' Games. And Brian is just too perfect. A.J. looks just as scary here as he does as The Phantom (no offense or anything).

OTHER
I think my favorite part during the dance scene is when the guys put their hands to one side and move their heads accordingly. I tried to do that, but you'd be surprised how some of their simplest moves can be so hard to perform. I also like it when they spun around and got down on one leg. I can do that second part, but the spinning around thing from the position they were formerly in confused me. Bet I confused you guys just by trying to explain that, huh?

INBYH

Love the five room/five guy theme. The guys had similar themes in Everybody, LTL, and SMTMOBL.

Brian's room - it's a nice, sweet lookin' place, like him. Nothing flashy or garish looking. Matches him perfectly.

A.J.'s room - very cool, metallic, futuristic kind of room. His sunglasses a nice touch. As always.

Howie's room - Guitars? In any other situation I might gawk, but Howie pulls it off somehow.

Kevin's room - I think this is my favorite room. Has a regal look, but still very comfortable and inviting at the same time. I like Kev's interaction with his girl a lot too.

Nick's room - funky and wild is all I got to say. Just look at those pants. And the girl he's with! I love it, lol!!

The main room - I don't like Nick's hair here---I like it slicked back, but not that much. Just doesn't feel/look natural to me. Again, I don't really like Howie's ponytail look. The other guys look ok here, but A.J. stand out the most I think. I love the part at the end where Kev & Nick are looking into the camera.

AIHTG

The Scenes:
A) Dancing in suits
B) Dancing in metallic-like trench coats
C) Wearing varying solid-color button-up shirts
D) Wearing varied clothing

A) All the guys look great here. In the one part near the end of the song, where the background is white and the guys are spreading out with Nick in the middle, you get a really nice look at their bodies. Not Nick's or Brian's, of course. *sigh* Oh, did I MENTION the dance routine? Too cool for words!!

B) Not many shots of this, but they still look smashing, baby. Sorry for that lapse of speech, but I was feeling Austin Powery alluva sudden.

C) All the Boys look HOTHOTHOT here!! Except for Kev. I don't like his non-mustache (sp) and sunglass look here. Sorry sweetie. A.J. is just beyond words with his unbuttoned light green shirt and the hat. Can't even begin to describe Da Bone here. Brian and Nick, of course, look too fine, and Howie is perfect as well. His smile is just as heart-melting as Nick's. Well, almost as. ;)

D) My favorite shot here is near the end of the song, after Nick sings "To You..." and he blocks out the camera's shot of him with his hand. Call me weird, but I love it!!
