Ok, here's the history as I think it goes. A long time ago, there was a band called "My left Shoe". The band was comprised of Jaye Kosmerly, Kevin Mason, and Lauren (i don't know his last name). They played together for awile and eventually broke up. Their last show was the sudbury cd release party. Anyway, Lauren quit and Jaye and Kev still wanted to have a band. So, They got in contact with Ryan Bouchard, the old drummer from "No Guff". Then after nagging Pier Menard for quite some time to quit "Same Difference" and join "My left Shoe". Same Difference broke up and joined their band. They changed their name to "Negative Two 43". They played together for awile and played their first show on December 29th 1998. All was going well for the band until Ryan (the drummer) quit the band for personal reasons. Negative Two 43 was in a crisis. They called Dave form Quiksnap to ask if Jay Boudreault (undiscovered talent) was willing to play drums for them. Jay agreed. They played their first show with Jay in May of 99. It was a flawless show. Negative two 43 released their first 5 song cd in November of 99. And are currently working on their first full length CD. So in the mean time you can see Negative Two 43 at just about any show.
OK WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT, ok here's my tainted view of how negative came about. In early 1995 5 punks from garson started a band, this band really sucked !!! but they did manage to play on show, it was a grade 8 graduation. (hahaha still the only time i've ever been in a limo) after watch tape and hearing the audience feedback of "u guys really suck" the band know as lotta was no more. But from the ashes came "mud pie and his fish pond shenaigans" Later changing the name to my left shoe cause loren the rythum guitarist started playing drum (2 days aftewr we kicked out the drummer) so it was down to 3, me, jaye(the koz) and loren. we did are best spreading the word of "leftiusshoeism" around. Those years are pretty blurry now, im sure i missed some stuff. Well jaye out grew the kiddie drunk punk of MLS. and joined a band called same difference (jaye played bass) this is when jay started jamming with pier who played guitar. After the break up loren started a fun thing called "bobby james" i played with them a few times. But mainly i got drunk for the next year or so. suprisingly this new found love led me too from "punch knurd (drunk)" with jer from "setback" and greg form the unexplained. time passes, my liver gets damaged, and well jaye and pier move in together in a small house. So jay asked if i could sober up a bit a jam with'em a few times cause they were writing some crazy shit (oh yeah while i was drunk same difference broke up i guess). At this same time jaye and i were starting a bad religion cover band,with bouche "no guff's" drummer. By the time we got around to jamming the 1st time no guff had broken up, so negativetwo43 was born fall 1998. (not named yet tho) So jaye and pier we evicted from the house in febuary, thanks a lot royal bank! and with bouche planning to leave for university, down south, it seemed like the band would go there seperate ways. So im sitting around with koz and pier, we were bitching about not having a drummer, when i remebered this skate kid i brought to a party and well he almost got his ass kicked,cuz he was so pro, but i remembered hearing he played drums in a band with jer called "fallout". So i called him and well we stole him, killing fallout but those are the breaks. We got to jamming seriously cause we had a pile of songs and jay new none, so we played 8 after only 3 weeks, this was the may 99 show dave spoke of above. the line up hasn't changed since (im keeping my fingers crossed) We recorded the 6 song ep in september 99 and released it in november, We going back to record a full length in the next few weeks.
