Mike Malinin

Mike Malinin was born on October 10, 1967 in Washington, D.C. He was a quiet, athletic kid who grew up with his parent and brother Alex. His family moved to Miami, Florida when he was little, where he attended Ransom Everglades High School. After he graduated, he moved to Texas and studied for a degree in philosophy (which he expects to complete soon).

Mike has been drumming since the age of eleven, and received professional education during and throughout high school. He has been dubbed one of the most talented young drummers of our time, and it shows. He has been in numerous bands since junior high, including Careless with Nathan December (who is now the Goo Goo Dolls' touring guitarist). He was the Goo Goo Dolls' first choice as a replacement for ex drummer George Tutuska after they parted ways. Mike recently signed a contract with Warner Brothers, making him an offiicial Goo Goo Doll.

Mike is avid in numerous sports, including running, golf, cycling, skiing and nog-diving (it's a long story, but it involves David Letterman's infamous eggnog bowl. Maybe we'll post it sometime)
