k so after BBVD these guys are my favorites. do you wish to hear my tale of woe? they were playing here (in edmonton) on my 21st birthday, and i was stuck up north working, and now they've broken up and i'll never get to see them. how sad. but i did find their first cd- The Life's Desire just by fluke the other day and it kicks ass! i don't know if they ever really got to the states but if you get a chance you should check out either one of their cd's they're both really good.
Royal Crown Revue. this is just another band i really enjoy. mmmmm salty!
Squirrel Nut Zippers. I don't know that i consider them swing, but i suppose they are. They are
definately eclectic sounding, and a lot of fun to listen to. Click on the pic (ooh i'm a poet!) to get to
their unofficial website.
all right! some local boys! the rocking highliners. they are kind of bluesy swing. first time i saw them was opening
for bbvd here in edmonton. damn that was a good show!
I don't know if you would consider him swing either, but he is awesome. He does old classic jazz and big band/swing
songs and does them in his own style. Two cd's I know of- WiseAss Crooner (i think that sums it up nicely) and his
latest called ai (pronounced eye) which is all assorted love songs.
