More of my collection

* The Hitachi "Marie" TH-862R, from 1960. A nice little radio, no nicks or chips, plays like a champ with a real hot little receiver. A real joy, and a real deal at a garage sale for $15.

* Here is an odd little radio....Mr. Transistor, made in, I would guess, in the early 60s. Found at a flea market, with original box, for a buck. Doesn't play, but has a neat box. +

* Realtone TR2076, circa 1963. AM and FM, very well preserved, and still plays. Found in an antique store, just south of Little Rock, Ark., for about $18.

* Whoa. The big boy. The Zenith 3000-1 Transoceanic multi-band radio. What a honey. Built in 1964, this electro-mechanical behemoth plays on 9-D cells, and has a telescoping antenna that comes out of the carrying handle, which extends to about 6-feet long. These are really GREAT radios. These were not cheap radios when they were sold originally, and, they are not cheap now. Got about $200 in this one, bought at an antique store south of Syracuse, NY.

* The Realtone 1239, circa 1963, picked up at a flea market by my friend Bill for a "farthing". Still plays well.

* The Seminole BP-311. A real neat looking radio, in great shape. Unfortunately, it doesn't make a sound when connected to a 9-volt battery. Brought into the collection by my roving friend Bill.
