BENTO est né à Rio de Janeiro dans la favelle de Mangueira. Depuis l'âge de 5 ans il est élève des écoles de Samba et il a participé chaque année au fameux Carnaval de Rio. Il manie avec virtuosité tous les types de percussion (pandeiro, conga, repique, cuica, birimbau, surdo, agogo etc...)  et il est passé maître dans l'art de samba, des danses afro-brésiliennes et du capoeira.

BENTO was born in Rio de Janeiro in the favella Mangueira. Since the age of 5 years he was following the samba school and he partipated each year in the famous Rio Carnaval. He plays all types of percussions (pandeiro, conga, repique, cuica, birimbau, surdo, agogo etc...) and he became master in the art of Samba, Afro-brazilian dance and Capoeira.

Après avoir travaillé au Japon il est arriveé en Europe avec le show "Brasil Tropical". Suite à un parcours très international il a crée "BRASIL MODERN" et il continue à enseigner la samba à Bruxelles avec la rigueur et la fièvre des gens là-bas.

After having worked in Japan he came to Europe with the samba group "Brasil Tropical". Following an international tour he set up "BRASIL MODERN" and he continues to give samba lessons in Brussels with the power and  fever of the Brazilian people.

Il a animé beaucoup des soirées avec son Batucada Samba Show. Il a pratiqué comme soliste et dans plusieurs orchestres en jouant les percussions dans toutes les variations de Bossa Nova aux rythmes endiablés du Carnaval.

He has organised and partipated in Batucada Samba Shows. He has played percussions solo and in various groups practising all sorts of rhythms from Bossa Nova to the firy samba of the Carnaval.
