~*~*~ Meghan (Canada): (posted March 9, 2003) This year in my French class, we had to study "Le Bossu de Notre Dame." After we finished reading the book, we watched a fairly old movie, and then we watched the musical. I have to honestly say that I have borrowed the DVD and watched so many times. That was the first time I heard Bruno and saw his hair!!!!! I have the worst obsession in the world for long curly hair, and in the movie, Bruno had it. I am also a singer, and I tend to pick apart other singers. It's hard for me to find someone that I find truly good. Bruno is above and beyond one of those people. His tuning, breath support, tone, and stage presence are all exceptional. I only have one problem with him... he cut his hair.... ~*~*~ Patricia (Belgium): (posted February 19, 2003) The first time I saw Bruno Pelletier was in the theater of Notre Dame de Paris. I love the voice of Bruno. Now I go to France to look for his other music because he is great!!!!! Here in Belgium I don't find his music. But I will go on till I'll find it. Bruno you are a favorite!!! Thank you. My daughter is 3 years old and she likes you too! ~*~*~ Lena (Armenia): (posted November 19, 2002) The first time I saw Bruno was in Notre Dame de Paris, which I saw on TV in Yerevan this year. So, I started to search on the net to get some news about him, and I knew that Notre Dame de Paris has been on since 1998. But here in Armenia we know that it is a new show of 2002... Too bad that we get the news so late. But I don't think it is too late... Any way, I just want to say that Bruno has captured my heart with his voice. LOVE YOU BRUNO!!! ~*~*~ Sharon (Oxford, England): (posted May 12, 2001) I first saw Bruno on TV while I was in France last year, and immediately thought wow! Luckily this excellent discovery coincided with the opening on NDdP in England. After buying the soundtracks and "D'autres Rives" and listening to them over and over again, I finally booked my tickets for the show. The first 3 times I went though I missed him each time, so getting desperate I met friends in London who were seeing the show and got them to come to the stage door with me. Finally I met this wonderful man and did the whole autograph, photo, and chat in English thing! I was shaking so much when it was over, and walked around with a huge grin on my face for the next day! After this meeting I was even more determined to see Bruno on stage, so for the last time made my way to London (with another friend to act as photographer) and had a wonderful evening. The performance was wonderful, and once again I spoke to him at the stage door. ~*~*~ Lisa (Virginia): (posted April 5, 2001) The Pont-Pelletier-Bridge Brunothon in Laval, September 28 & 29, 2000: Day One Day Two Day Three ~*~*~ Prisca (Toronto): (posted March 30, 2001) The Pont-Pelletier-Bridge Brunothon in LaSalle, March 17, 2001: Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four Part Five ~*~*~ Lindsay (New York City): (posted March 26, 2001) The "D'autres rives" tour in Drummondville, March 3, 2001: Concert Report ~*~*~ Prisca (Toronto): (posted March 26, 2001) The Pont-Pelletier-Bridge Brunothon in Laval, September 28 & 29, 2000: Day One Day Two Day Three Day Four ~*~*~ Denise (Nebraska): (posted November 4, 2000) Last year, in July or early August, I was leafing through a magazine from Quebec that I'd purchased from Ebay for an interview with French-Canadian actor Roy Dupuis. I found a reference to the musical "Notre-Dame de Paris", just a small blurb in an issue that was about a year old at the time. I was intrigued and went to my favorite source for purchasing stuff from Quebec. They carried both the original concept album and the integral live double CD set. Sound unheard and with absolutely no guarantee I'd like it, I opted for the latter. When I received it a few days later, I popped it immediately into the player and set about to e-mail Linda and Lynne and let them know I'd received it. The first note out of Bruno Pelletier's platinum throat and I froze solid, unable to type ... my mouth gaping open. I'd never been so affected by a voice before! I was immediately in awe of him. Once I was able to function again, I ordered "Vivre sa vie" and "Miserere". I became even more enamored of that voice. Since then, I've collected his two previous solo albums, the English version of NDDP, "Starmania", the original concept album of NDDP, the video tape of NDDP and the DVD of NDDP. I listen to him everyday. If I'm not feeling well, or work is getting me down, he always uplifts me. His voice has a true beauty to it ... it is powerful and, at the same time, so crystalline in its purity that I cannot help but be continually moved and amazed by it. ~*~*~ Lisa (South Africa): (posted October 7, 2000) I discovered Bruno at the end of last year, and I basically had only the NDDP studio album to listen to, and the video. Then myself & 2 friends decided to take a trip to Canada - partly inspired by the NDDP cast, I might add! We got a 1-night stopover in London, and booked tickets for NDDP. I was totally blown away by Bruno's performance - the video pales by comparison to the real deal! Anyway, after the show we went to the stage door to wait for Bruno (& Daniel Lavoie). When Bruno finally emerged, (carrying his shopping from Sainsbury's!) I asked him for his autograph, and told him that we had come from SA to see him. Well, his reaction was priceless! He did a complete double take, looked at me in total disbelief, and said "South Africa? What?" He then signed autographs for us and asked us whether we had enjoyed the show - what a question! He posed for a picture with me, then we left. About 10 minutes later we were still standing on the corner outside the Dominion Theatre waiting for a taxi, and out of the corner of my eye I saw him approaching. As he walked to the Underground entrance, he caught my attention, smiled that gorgeous smile at me, and called out "Bye!" It was my turn to do a double take! I've never forgotten that meeting.... ~*~*~ Lindsay (New York City): (posted October 6, 2000) Like a good number of Bruno's fans, I first discovered him through Notre Dame de Paris. I saw the Las Vegas production three times this past summer because I had a few friends in the cast, and I bought the video of the French production as a souvenir. Well, needless to say, it wasn't long before I found myself fast-forwarding to all the parts that featured M'sieur Pierre Gringoire, singing, dancing, what have you. I've seen a lot of truly amazing performers, and even on video, Bruno's incredible stage presence and charisma illuminate the stage... but the Voice is what really amazed me. Well, I ended up going on a family vacation to Montréal in August, and I devoted most of my time to locating all four of Bruno's solo CDs, which are beyond amazing, as you all know; "Loin de chez moi", "Où que tu sois", "Se rêver", and "Je ne suis qu'une chanson" are my favourite songs ever. There isn't much more to tell, for I have yet to see him in concert or meet him or anything (I will one day, I swear I will)... except to say thank you, Bruno, if you ever read this, for sharing your beautiful music with me! |
