Theresa:
Lick it! Lick it, lick it, lick it!!!
Words that will forever connect Storm and moi.
I first met Doug a few years ago, when he was sharing an apartment with my long-lost and then, recently re-found angel, Eric Bennyhoff. Eric was doing Pimpernel and Doug had yet to join the cast. My buddy Jayne (who Doug refers to as "British Barbie") and I crashed with the boys for the weekend, while we were wrapping a shoot on a cooking show the two of us were styling. We spent the evening cooking a huge, gourmet midnight supper and drinking a shitload of wine. I was wearing a pair of levis that just happened to have the entire backside ripped out of them. The next night, Doug was singing at the Duplex downtown, so Jayne & I ventured out with da Storm. While standing on the subway platform on 72nd & B'way, Doug decided to do his impersonation of me, as I was the evening before. He bent over, began slapping his ass & yelling "lick it, lick it, lick it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I can't say that I remember doing that, but I can't say I don't, either, soooooooooooo... that's just become our little way of saying "love you." By the way, I'm now sharing a home with (as Joanna calls him) TimmyBennyEricHoff.

Joanna:
OK, so I'm bored and want to post another memory....it'll give me something to do! Anyway, I think that my favorite memory of Storm, though it really isn't much a memory as a fact, is just the fact that I once jokingly told him that I had decided his Les Miz jacket said "Da Storm" when it says "D. Storm", and he actually started calling himself that. Basically, that's just another reason why Lins and I should never be allowed on the phone together (TimmyBennyEricHoff being another).
I also like the memory of last May 15th, on Lins' b'day, when Lins, Pam, and I got front row seats for SP2, and during the show there were some random faces made at us by Storm, but at the curtain call he was mouthing something and motioning to us, and after about the entire curtain call, the people behind us interpreted his movements for us. It ended up he was telling us to stay for a talk-back, but just the site of Storm pointing and silently shouting (is that possible?) is memory enough for me. :o)

BarbaraAnne:
I would have to say that I have two funny memories of Storm. One was the opening night of Star Wars Episode One - The Phantom Menace.....Doug came running out of the Minskoff Theatre stage Door brandishing a green light saber (the pic on the first page of this site is from this memory) and proceeded to run around the crowd with his light sabre over his head yelling "Only 1 hour to go, only one hour to go" and then proceeded to run out of the windtunnel to mass applause.
The second memory was after one of the performances in April, and there was a video crew there shooting tesimonials from people who had just seen The Scarlet Pimpernel. Well, some girl was being video taped and Doug just ran behind her and into the camera he yelled "This show kicks ass!! This show kicks ass!! Everyone should come see it!!!" (then he politely decline the video-ers request for an interview about his opinion of the show....he thought Doug was a fan!!!

Jessica:
Doug and I have only known each other a little over a month now, but I can honestly call him one of my closest and dearest friends. Doug's like that, a "people magnet"! I'd have to say my favorite Dougie moment was when I got out to my car after rehearsal and there was a big heart with kisses on my windshield....in chapstick!

Lex:
It might be the time me and Mandy yelled at him for being rude and he turned around in the middle of the street and came back to talk to us. That was the first time we met him. But I think the best was when I went to see Footloose w/ my friends. He walked by and I commented "Hey, there goes Storm" then randomly went to the wind tunnel after. He came out and said, "Hey! I thought you were seeing Footloose tonight. Weren't you outside that theatre?" The guy has an uncanny memory.

Tara:
Oh, to choose just one memorable moment with Doug would be just too tough, and I'd probably just get him into trouble. He has told me how flattered he is by this web page and you guys have done a great job. Keep it up!

Mike Messer:
My favorite Doug moment was tonight when he told me about all of you cosmically giving and beautiful fans. He loves you all very much and it's touching to hear him speak of you.
Naturally I had to check out the web site. MOST IMPRESSIVE....the force has taught y'all well.
be good.....

Lindsay:
Oh, must I choose one moment? Dear me. Alright... well, it was May 30, the day of the last show, and I had basically spent that day and the day before exchanging "goodbyes" and "keep in touches" with the cast people I knew, especially Storm and Bill Evans... you know, just in case I couldn't catch them after the show. It was all sort of bittersweet, even though I knew I'd see a lot of them again, but still, I cried all through the show. At the curtain call though, I was actually not crying -- probably because I was concentrating on getting as many good pictures as possible. Anyway, I was sitting mid-orchestra, and I ran up the stage-right aisle for the final curtain call... you know, the one right in front of where Storm and Bill took their bows. Well, in the midst of the chaos, I waved. Bill noticed and waved back... and Doug blew me a kiss from the stage. Maybe if he hadn't been crying, I wouldn't have started crying again either... but that's the way it went. It was just the sweetest thing, and completely made my weekend.

Christina:
Well all my Doug moments are my favorites but one of the more interesting ones was March 7. This was of course the "Douglas Sills isn't leaving SP day" so the windtunnel is jampacked after the show. My friends and I luckly managed to get right in front behind the police barricade. Well at various points from the time the show ended until Mr. Sills came out da Storm kept poking his head out the door and staring unbelievingly at the huge crowd. It was the cutest, funniest thing and around the fifth time he came out we started talking to him. To this day one of my friends affectionately calls him the Doorman.

Stefanie:
Hehe. My favorite Doug moment? Having him serve me my chicken caesar salad at the restaurant he worked at then. :)

Joanna:
What can I say about Da Storm? Most of my experiences with him I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate me posting here, but here goes.... I first met Doug at a concert that he did in December at a local high school. I thought that he was absolutely amazing, so I HAD to talk to him afterwards. He was the nicest guy, and when I spoke with him after seeing SP two weeks after the concert, he remembered me. I saw him many more times whether they were at SP, other concerts, or just randomly on the streets of NYC, and he was just the sweetest guy. Unfortunately, the only character I've seen him act as was Leggett (don't get me wrong, he was GREAT!), and although I have heard him sing many other songs (his "Heaven on Thier Minds" will blow you away, as will his "Corner of the Sky"), I hope that I can have the chance to see him act as his own character, not one of a large group. Storm is one of those guys that no matter what you're talking about with him, you'd end laughing hysterically, and he's such a great guy that you just can't think of him as a "big Broadway actor", he's just Storm!

Andrea:
I met Doug Storm on... May 19th, 1999 -- hey another birthday! (mine) ...he was sneaking out of the stage door while everyone crowded Rex, but one man caught him, and so did I. "Mind if I stand in line?" or something like that... yeah real clever right? hehe..I must say I'm not really known for my witty comments, and while I do have my moments, that wasn't one of them. Anyway, back to the story... Doug signed my book, "I'll sign on the fishmouth"... it was cute :D and then we just kept smilin' at each other as he walked away.... then the next night, I stopped in at the stage door to get James Bohanek and Tom Zemon's sigs, no one was there... except... no, not Doug... Stacy!! and Melanie!! HI GUYS! I think I met Sal about that time too... hehe I still love that picture Stacy. Anyway (that's my not-so-random, random word), I left after a half hour of chatting, and came back a half hour, hour or whatever later to pick my program up, and who do I see, Doug! I think he recognized me? I mean, (hemi-demi-semi-embarrassing* confession) I was wearing the same dress as the evening before, and asked me what I was doing... getting whose sigs? And he had that picture in his hands... the one Stacy gave him, with the light saber... hehe Me: "I love that picture" He: "yeah me too." And those are my encounters with da Storm. Nothing much, but I'd have to say they are on my top 5 list of coolest things during my trip to NYC.
Now that I think about it... I never really "met" Doug...just talked to him a couple times... he has no clue what my name is!

Stacy:
I think my favourite memory of Doug would have to be from the day that Star Wars opened. I was hanging out in the windtunnel before the show, as usual, and who should walk by but Doug. But not just him. Him and the light sabre. :-) He went in, and I thought that might be the end of it. However, he had to go out and get some food...so before too long he was back, this time with a Yoda cup from Taco Bell. :-) He was going to see the 12:01 showing of Star Wars that night, so I decided to buy him some flowers just so he'd have to drag them along to the show. ;-) So he came out the stage door after the show, light sabre in hand, screamed "45 more minutes!!" and took off down the windtunnel. I had to chase him down the windtunnel (not too easy in heels) to give him the flowers. I still laugh every time I think about it. :-)
