  "Leading Korean hip-hop group Drunken Tiger (DT) has assembled top Korea-based international hip-hop artists to offer their hip-hop music on their 5th album. Comprising Tiger JK, DJ Shine, Micki Eyes, DJ Jhing and Roscoe Umali, DT has won two best hip-hop song awards at two Korean musical awards in 2003. As one of the founders of the growing Movement Crew, a clan of both mainstream and underground hip-hop artists with a work base in Korea, DT releases their fifth offering featuring a list of guests from the Movement. • August 2004: Drunken Tiger's 5th album has been released. But to the surprise of many fans, DJ Shine is heavily missing from the CD. However, not to totally upset fans, he can be heard on one track. It is said that DJ Shine has elected to take some time off to be with his family for personal reasons. • March 2004: It was annouced in February that for the first time ever, Korea would be holding its own version of the American Grammy Awards. According to some Korean music professionals, it is a shame what the Korean music industry has come to. "After the restoration of Korea's independance, Korea's music has never been ruined so much. We cannot sink any lower. Even if the "singer" that won all the awards last year is that popular, she only sold 150 thousand copies. Korea's music industry doesnt have a 'mid-fielder'. Mainstream has rotten away while the non-mainstream is not active enough. Albums that sell over 100 thousand copies should be over a hundred a year, but not even 10 a year is occuring. " soompi.com This new awards ceremony will not be like those held by the broadcasting companies where the outcome is based upon who brings in the most ratings, or sold the most albums, but will be based on true talent alone. "This new award system will not take into account any statistics on the amount of times a singer has performed on television or the amount of albums sold like the other ceremonies. Instead, the awards will be given to those that influence a growth in Korea's mass music culture. This means whether or not an artist is mainstream or not, those awarded will be based more on musical talent rather than popularity. • February 2004: Drunken Tiger will be on the soundtrack to the popular online game Laqia. Many Korean artists will be featured in this album. The instrumentals for this album are being recorded in Europe by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and this album will be unique in that it is solely being composed by those who have played this game. • September 2003: This past August 23, 2003, Drunken Tiger went to Taipei to represent South Korea in the "2003 Big Summer Concert in Taipei" This is a huge event in which for the past several years, top asian singers have participated. This year, Drunken Tiger opened this big event performing the songs "Drunken Symphony," "The Thumb Finger," and "I Want You." "The Thumb Finger" was the greatest crowd pleaser. • July 2003: On August 9th and 10th, Chicago is celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of Korean Immigration to the United States at the 8th Annual Korean Street Festival. One of the main attractions at this year's festival is the 2003 Spotlight competition sponsored by the Korea Times. The competition will take place on the SYN.NRG Stage, hosted by Steve G. First prize at the competition is the winners demo reviewed by Drunken Tiger's DJ Shine, an autographed CD and T-Shirt from DT, as well as a cash prize. An estimated 35,000 patrons will attend this year's festival. The two day event will kick off August 9th at 11AM and go till 10PM and on August 10th at 11AM ending at 8PM. • June 2003: "Thought to be only a rumor, it was recently announced that Eun JiWon was an official member of the Movement hiphop family. Although JiWon garnered most of his popularity from his days as a singer/rapper for dance group, "SechKies," and his solo hit "Murmur," JiWon has decided to change his style and do a less mainstream kind of music, hip-hop. The Movement family is best known for their "real" representation of hip-hop and their criticism of the puppetry behind Korean mainstream groups. Despite JiWon's past affiliation with mainstream pop, the Movement has embraced JiWon because of his determined and charismatic attitude towards hip-hop. To prove his new dedication to hip-hop, he dominated his last album with hip-hop tracks, one song even featuring Drunken Tiger (Track 6. DT.GZine). For his 3rd album, JiWon personally asked Drunken Tiger to help produce some of his songs. Although the group was busy with their 4th album, JK was said to be spending long nights at the studio producing both albums. • March 2003: Korea's Hip Hop representatives Drunken Tiger's involvement in original soundtrack of upcoming movie, "Show Show Show" is sweeping the media's attention. they're song is called, "hae ddul nahl (the day the sun shows up)." it's a remake of 1977's hit song by Song DaeGwan. The movie's staff believed "hae ddul nahl" is a classic Korean song and since they were in search of singers who could remake it with urban feel to it, Drunken Tiger fit the best. Like always, DT wrote and composed their own lyrics, but the song comes with one more unique feature: It'll only be released through cell phones.

• February 2003: "Drunken Tiger has told Good day sport newspaper that they have crucial evidence that would prove that Tiger JK did not do drugs. Popular Hip Hop group, Drunken Tiger, told the newspaper that Tiger JK was innocent in the 2000 drug scandal and they have evidence that his statement is true. Drunken Tiger, with a new album coming out this month, told the paper, 'We couldn't say it in the public, but we have a tape where Uptown (in the interview, they put "a group" for Uptown's privacy) confessed that they lied about JK's drug usage.' This controversial tape, which was mentioned by Tiger JK, was recorded recently during his meeting with one of the member from Uptown in L.A.
