Eithne Ni bhraonain was born on May 17th 1961 in Gweedore Northwest Ireland. Most of her Siblings are in the irish group Clannad in which enya was a member until 1992, when she went to focus soley on her solo career. Her Mother Baba, is a music teacher, and her father was in a showband called ( Slieve foy band ). Enya was the 6th born of 9 brothers and sisters. She went to school to learn English, and she is quoted in saying that she feels more comefortable when singing Irish. She studied classical music in school and excelled in watercolors! She finally finished school in 1980. Her first project was to write music for the movie " The frog Prince" in 85, but ended up having only two tracks on the soundtrack, entitled" Kiss by Fountain", and " Dreams". She currently lives alone in Killiney in Co. Dublin. Enya recently bought a castle( Ayesha Castle ) which is being renovated and when it is finished she will move in! It cost her some 2.5 million dollars.
