"Well, we're sure glad you decided to join us again," Justin boasted.
Sarah glanced at him and gave him a dirty look as he narrowed his eyes and turned his attention back to the movie like he was truly interested in it. Even in the short time I've known him, I can tell he really has a bad attitude. The was over about 45 minutes after we came down and it was 1:30.
"I think we'd better be getting back," Sarah noted, as she yawned.
We all agreed and walked upstairs. As we opened the front door and looked outside, we realized that no one had noticed there was a storm coming down. It was very violent, thunder that roared and lightning every couple of seconds that made outside look like it was a sunny afternoon.
"You guys are not going to drive home in this," Lance told us.
"And...why not?" Tara asked.
Lance debated, "Because it's hard to see out here and we're not going to let you drive in this, you could get in an accident!"
"So, where do you expect us to stay?" I asked.
"Here," Justin said straight out. We all looked at him curiously. "Oh come on. There's enough rooms and food here to last us 2 weeks. You're staying here."
I looked at Melanie and she shrugged. "OK, I guess," I muttered. I didn't want to have to face Justin tonight. But, I guess I now didn't have a choice. We walked back into the house and JC shut the front door.
"So," Tara started, "Where are we sleeping? And what should we wear?"
"Well, the basement couch is pretty big," Justin stated.
"Yeah, we could all get a bunch of blankets and sleeping bags and sleep down here!" Joey said. We all looked at each other and agreed, since we were all too tired to disagree.
We went in the basement, gathered blankets, pillows & sleeping bags and all sat down in a big pile. We ended up talking until about 2:00, until everyone fell asleep...except for me, that is. I looked around as I was getting up to get a drink of water. There was Melanie, wrapped in Lance's arms. Then there was Tara, sleeping peacefully next to a snoring Joey. Then Sarah was next to my spot, with Justin, JC, and Chris just laying wherever they could find a spot. I was just about to sit back down when suddenly Justin's eyes fluttered open. He looked up at me but barely acknowledged me.
"Nice to see you too," I sarcastically said.
"It's not that I'm not happy to see you, it's that I'm tired and can't sleep," he replied.
"Oh, Mr. Rockstar is tired?" I asked him.
"Mr. Rockstar? Yeah, right!" he said.
"Oh come on, you know you're gonna be huge! Already there are girls fluttering their eyelashes around you and falling at your feet. Soon you'll have girls squealing your name!" I told him.
"Oh really? And you know all of this?"
"Of course. Because I can tell the future!"
"Yeah, ok, so...how big is *Nsync gonna be in 2 years?" he asked me, waiting for an answer.
"Well, you'll be the biggest band in the country, win a bunch of awards, and break all of the album records!"
"Haha, I wish! If only that were possible! Ok, I have another question. Are Tara and Joey going to end up together?" Justin asked me.
"Yeah, I have a feeling there will be some hard times for a while, but no matter what, they'll stay faithful to each other. They're just that kind of people. Flirty, party animals, wild, flirty, flirty...you know what I mean. It might give them some hard times, but they'll realize that they are made for each other," I said, wishing I could say the same and me and a guy.
"What about Mel and Lance?"
"Ooohhh, there's is going to be a fairy tale, you can just tell! They are so perfect for each other, you couldn't find them a better match!" I said, smiling.
"What about...me and a girl?"
I was about to go on about Melanie and Lance when I stopped. Was he really asking this? I took a deep breath and cautiously said, "Well...I'm not sure. The future looks hard. There will definitely be some tough times. But I think you'll find that one you truly want to be with. Someone who is a lot like you. Outgoing, funny, friendly...someone you'll want to see every day of your life. The one that you know you'll want to be with the rest of your life. The one you'll go to bed thinking about...and wake up wanting to see their bright smile. You won't know it for awhile, but I'm sure that one will just be standing in front of you." We both paused for a while, avoiding talking and trying not to look one another in the eyes.
"And why can't that be you?" Justin asked, looking me square in the eye.
