As the minutes passed, JC and I got so close. Maybe we had only been talking for a half an hour, but I found out so much about him, about his group, and most of all, about a brother I never knew. Sarah, Melanie and Tara walked over and I introduced them to him. They said hi, but slowly walked away, wanting to give Paul, JC and I privacy. JC was telling me about how big *N SYNC was getting in Europe and I was so happy for them. He was telling me about how all the fans would do anything to meet them and told be some things they did, some which were just too funny not to laugh at.
Meanwhile-
Justin was looking over the fireplace into the living room and at all the people in this crowded house as he thought to himself, "All these people are here for US. This is amazing, I could get used to it!"
When suddenly, someone caught his attention. There was a girl sitting next to JC that he couldn't keep his eyes off of. Even from the kitchen he could see her big, beautiful, brown eyes and her curly hair. Her smile, it seemed to lighten up the whole room as JC was telling her something that she obviously thought was funny. She was one of those people if you were in a room with her, you wouldn't be able to take your attention off of her. She held the spotlight. Her laugh, which he could hear, even though she was so far away, was one of innosence. He could tell this was a girl a lot like him. Someone who was forced to grow up quickly. He didn't know who she was, or why he came to these conclusions about a girl he'd never met before. The room seemed to go silent, and his focus was all on her. And yet, she somehow had a striking resemblence to JC. The same cheeckbones, the same chin.
'But wait...' Justin thought to himself, 'JC doesn't have any brothers or sisters, and he only has 2 cousins and I've met them.' He was trying to figure out who this mystery girl was when someone tapped him on the shoulders.
"Justin, there you are! Are you coming? We've been looking all over for you! Come on," she said as she took his hand and led him into the living room.
I suddenly looking up for a minute and saw someone walking into the room with Lynn and into the living room. I now saw it was the guy in the picture-- Justin, I think. His blond curly hair was very blond, almost platinum, and even though I usually don't like blondes, this one intrigued me. His blue eyes made him seem so friendly, so approachable, and yet, I wondered if I'd ever have the guts to introduce myself to him. JC had told me about him.
About how he was only 17, and lived for so long without his family and friends nearby, and I suddenly felt like I knew what he went through, because I went through the same thing. Lynn walked over with Justin to where I was sitting as JC and Paul got up, so I did too.
Lynn started, "Justin, this is Jessie, JC's sister."
"What?" he asked.
I decided I'd say something to him, since he looked confused. "I came to Florida to find Paul, he's my dad, and I just now met JC." As I was saying that, his eyes focused directly on me. I could feel my heart skipping a beat.
But I asked myself, 'How could I be attracted to someone I just now met?'
Justin stuck his hand out for me to shake and I did. "Oh, I understand. Hi Jessie, I'm Justin."
