Right then, someone called for everyone's attention. "In case you don't know, you are here to watch the 'N Sync Disney concert and celebrate this wonderful group getting their big break!"
I looked at who was standing next to me, JC, and asked him who that was. "That's Lou Pearlman."
"Oh," I said. I looked at JC's face as Lou was saying those things about a group HE was in. How amazing that must feel to have that many people there for them.
Lou started talking again, "So let's all focus our attention on the TV in the living room!"
Everyone sat down or got comfortable in order to watch this. I didn't really know what to expect. Before yesterday, I had never heard of them, and I was excited to see what kind of performers they were. Over the next hour, I was amazed at how they handled the crowd.
There were so many people there screaming their names, focusing on them. How they could dance and still sing perfectly, and you could see the joy on their faces as they did this. It was something all 5 of them loved, and you could tell. Then you see the backstage things, them just having fun, as you realize they're normal people too. I would have to say my favorite part was, "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You." The song was amazing, one of the most beautiful and romantic songs I have ever heard. At the end everyone started clapping and the look on their faces could never be explained. I was proud just to be sitting next to JC, and the fact that JC was my brother.
Lou took everyone's attention again as he said, "Okay, let's eat!" as we all laughed.
We all went outside to a nice summer night in Florida and out on the deck to get our food. I found my friends again as we went up to the buffet table to get dinner. I then felt a tap on my back as I turned around to see Justin.
"Hey Jessie, why don't you come sit with us."
"Um...ok," I said as Sarah, Tara, and Melanie followed to where Justin was leading.
There were tables set up all around, and JC, Lance and Justin were sitting at one. While Chris was off talking to someone and Joey was off getting more food, since he was already on his second helping!
"So, what did you guys think?" Lance asked.
"Oh my gosh, you guys totally amazed me!" I told them.
"Yeah, I had heard 'I Want You Back,' but never seen you perform or heard any other songs. I just know you guys are gonna be huge!" Sarah said.
"I sure hope so," JC said.
"Well, I know so!" Melanie said.
"We saw all your gold records at Paul's house, I couldn't believe it!" Tara said.
"Yeah, I mean it's pretty cool being in Europe, but we're just so happy to be home and have a whole different audience!" Justin said.
Through this whole conversation, I could see the passion in their eyes, that music was what they lived for. And I envied that so much, wishing I had something to be that passionate about.
"And I didn't know you guys could dance! It was so cool! It must have taken a long time to learn," Melanie said.
"Well, we learned it all overseas, because we've performed a ton, but over here it's like we're just starting over, we're brand new!" Lance commented.
Right as he said that, Joey came up and sat in the only empty seat that was left, next to Tara and Lance.
"On a new subject, how old are you beautiful woman?" Joey asked and the other guys laughed as he tried to attempt to flirt, especially with Tara.
"Well, I just turned 18, Tara is 18, and Sarah and Melanie are 19," I told him. "How old are you?" I asked, turning the question over to him.
"Lance over there is 19, I'm 21, along with JC, and our little baby Justin over there is 17," Joey answered.
"Hey, you mean 17 and a half!" Justin added in as we all chuckled.
