"Matchmaker Productions, this is Alli," she said into the phone.
"Hey Alli, it's Jeff," the voice on the other end said. Jeff was the show's producer. "Is Jill around? I have the greatest show concept for you girls," he said anxiously.
"Sure Jeff, I'll go get her and put you on speaker," she told him.
Alli opened the door to Jill's office that adjoined to hers and called her in.
"What's going on?" Jill asked.
"I'm not sure, Jeff's on the phone and says he has some great idea for the show" Alli told her.
Jill and Alli were hosts of a new dating game show based in Orlando called "Chemistry" and were working on their second season on the air.
They sat down and put Jeff on the speaker phone.
"Ok Jeff, we're both here, whatcha got?" Jill asked.
"Great, now that I have you both on the phone I wanted to let you know that management held a meeting this morning concerning the show. They are very happy with the results so far but are looking for something to boost the ratings. They've come up with an idea to have a celebrity show that they want to air in two weeks and we need the two of you to come up with the talent. "We'll need to have someone booked by Friday."
Jill flashed Alli a panicked look as Jeff continued, "Do you think you girls can handle that?"
Jill looked like she was gonna pass out.
"I don't know, Jeff, you want us to get three celebrities to commit to our show with only a week to spare?" Jill asked him. She really looked worried and truthfully, Alli didn't have a good feeling about this either.
"Well we believe this will secure the show's spot on the network and management wants it now," Jeff urged.
"Don't worry Jeff, we're on top of it," Alli said, trying to reassure him they were capable of handling the assignment.
"Great!" he said. "We'll hold a brainstorming session in my office on Monday morning and we'll need you to have some prospective celebrities lined up. I'll leave it in your hands and have a great weekend." And with that Jeff hung up the phone.
