"Jaime' are you almost ready?" Joey called out.
"I'll be out in a few," she called back.
"Well, I'm gonna step outside for a sec," Joey said as he opened the door and stepped out onto the balcony.
He was thinking about the talk he and Alli had earlier in the day. Jaime' had rigged up the whole situation perfectly to upset Alli. He explained that Jaime' had been sitting on the other end of the couch until they had knocked on the door.
"Jaime' better not do anything to mess up our relationship," Joey thought.
His thoughts were interrupted by Alli and Jill's door opening. Jill and JC came out first, followed by Chris and finally Alli.
"She is beautiful," he thought to himself.
"Alli!" he called out.
She turned around and walked over to him, "Hey baby," she said smiling and kissing Joey.
"You look amazing. I can't believe we can't spend tonight together," Joey told her sincerely.
"It's okay, we'll spend time together tomorrow," she assured him.
Joey kissed Alli again.
"Ok, break it up you two," JC said laughing.
"Yeah, let's go Joey," they heard Jaime' say behind them.
They all turned around to see Jaime' standing there in a short red dress and stiletto heels. JC, Joey and Chris' mouths dropped open.
"Are you ready?" she asked, practically purring.
"Yeah, I'm ready," Joey said, suddenly at a loss for words.
"That's some dress, Jaime'," Jill said dryly.
"Isn't it though?" Jaime' smirked.
"That wasn't meant to be a compliment. You'd better watch your back," Jill quipped.
Alli was pissed, "Goodbye Joey," she said as she grabbed Chris arm and headed downstairs to the car.
"Alli, wait!" Joey called.
"Let her go," Jaime' said grabbing Joey's hand and leading him down the stairs.
Alli was almost in tears.
"It's okay, Alli," Jill assured her. "Joey doesn't really want her, he was just shocked by how much skin she was showing. Chris and JC were staring too."
"Yeah, but they only had to look at her for a few minutes. Joey will be staring all night."
"Don't you think you should change your outfit?" Joey asked Jaime'.
"Why? Don't you like my dress?" Jaime' asked pouting.
"The dress is nice but I think it upset Alli to see you dressed that way."
"Do you honestly think I care what Alli thinks? I wore this to impress you and I think I've succeeded."
Joey was trying as nicely as he could to tolerate Jaime', "Look, I think we need to get a few things straight before this date goes on. Alli and I are together now and I really only did this as a favor to her. I hope you understand I think your a great girl, but it would never work," he trailed off.
He didn't mean to hurt her feelings but he had to set the record straight.
Jaime' collapsed into a heap on the staircase. She started sobbing uncontrollably.
"I'm sorry," she said between sobs. "I always fall for the wrong guy. I knew you and Alli had something going but I still tried to manipulate the situation. I don't know why I do these things," she continued to sob.
"It's okay," Joey said sitting next to her and putting his arm around her. "There's a perfect guy just waiting for you and I know you'll find him."
"Thank you so much for putting up with me," Jaime' said hugging Joey. "If I haven't ruined things too bad, would you still like to go out?"
"Sure," Joey said standing up and helping her to her feet.
"Just give me a minute to change," Jaime' said heading back up the stairs.
Lance wiped his mouth, "Are you ready for dessert?" he asked Jenn.
"I think so," she said smiling. "This night couldn't have been more perfect," she thought to herself.
Lance pulled a basket of strawberries out.
"Wow, I'm impressed," Jenn said laughing.
"Thank you, thank you, hold your applause," Lance laughed.
They ate the strawberries and talked a little longer.
"Any other suprises I should know about?" Jenn asked.
"Just one," Lance said standing up and helping Jenn to her feet.
He picked up the picnic basket and they walked back to the car, hand in hand.
