Alli heard the front door slam and then another slam from Jill's bedroom.
"What the hell?" she said outloud.
She opened her bedroom door, crossed the living room and knocked on Jill's door.
"Jill are you in there?" she went to turn the knob and noticed it was locked, "Jill let me in."
The door flew open and Jill stood there with her eyes full of tears.
"What the hell happened?" Alli asked when she saw her face.
"It was horrible!" was all Alli could catch between sobs.
The phone rang.
"Stay right there!" Alli said as she ran to catch the phone.
"Hey JC! What's up?" she said into the phone. "Yeah, hang on, I'll get her."
Alli walked into Jill's room and handed her the phone.
"I don't wanna talk to him," Jill said.
Alli covered the mouthpiece, "But it's JC."
Jill took the phone from her and pressed the off button, "And now it's not," Jill said.
"Will you please tell me what happened?" Alli pleaded.
"Some blond bimbo with an accent showed up at JC's door this morning," Jill told her.
"What?"
"Wait, it gets better. Not only did she show up, but she also had luggage with her," Jill continued.
"Ok, did I just fall into some sort of alternate universe or something? You can't possibly be serious," Alli said, still confused.
"I'm being dead serious. I don't know what she's doing here but she and JC looked very friendly. Almost more than friends," Jill said, starting to tear up again.
"I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say," Alli said trying to comfort her, "Maybe it's not what you think."
"Chris! What are you doing here?" Candice asked surprised.
"Hey, did I catch you at a bad time?" Chris asked, noticing Candice had her keys in her hand.
"No, I was just gonna take Stevie for a walk."
Candice pulled on the leash in her hand and the little dalmation puppy trotted out the door and began sniffing around Chris' feet.
"Oh my gosh! Look how cute," Chris said bending down to pet the dog. "I'll walk with you, if that's okay."
"Sure," Candice said, stepping out the door.
They walked a little ways down the sidewalk in silence.
"I wanted to tell you something," Chris started.
"Oh? What's that?" Candice asked.
"Well, I wanted to tell you that I think you're really great," he continued.
Candice raised an eyebrow, "This is starting to sound like a "let's be pals" speech."
"Oh no! That's not it at all. I don't want you to think that."
"Okay," she said.
"What I'm trying to say is that I really like you a lot and I would like to get to know you better."
"You're talking in circles, Chris. Why don't you just say what you wanna say?"
"I'm sorry. I know I sound like an idiot. It's just that we're leaving for three weeks tomorrow and I wanna keep this, I mean us, going. I don't expect you to wait around for me but I was hoping we could try to make this work," Chris finished.
"Chris," Candice said, "I like you a lot and I think we really clicked. I'll be around as long as you want me to be."
Chris smiled at that, "Okay, let's finish walking Stevie and go have some fun today."
Jaime' unlocked the door to her apartment, "I'm coming!" she yelled to the ringing phone. "Hello," she said.
"Jaime'! When did you get home? Why didn't you call me?" Justin questioned.
"What? I just walked in the door," Jaime' said walking into her bedroom.
"I left you a note to call me," Justin informed her.
"Oh, I don't see a note," she said looking around her bedroom.
"Well, it's there. I left it on your pillow."
Jaime' looked on her bed. She shuffled the spread and moved her pillow, not seeing the note anywhere.
"It's not here," she told him.
Justin closed his eyes and said a silent prayer, "Andie must have found it."
"Is everything okay? You sound weird," Jaime' said.
"Weird? I sound weird? I think I have a good reason to be freaked out. I woke up in your bed this morning, practically naked and Andie almost found me. Don't you think I should be a little upset?" Justin finished.
"Oh god Justin! Nothing happened last night. When we got to your house, you started drinking. We talked about Andie and then you passed out. I managed to get you awake and I drove your car here. You were so gone I just told you to stay here. I slept on the couch last night," Jaime' assured him.
"You did?" Justin asked surprised.
"Yes, I put you in my bed and I slept on the couch since I had to get up early this morning. I didn't want to wake you and I didn't realize Andie would come in my bedroom since she had to work early too."
"Well, now we have a big problem because I'm sure Andie read the note I left you to call me. I'm sure she thinks something's up," Justin told her.
"Why don't you come over and we'll talk to her together when she gets off work," Jaime' suggested.
"Okay, I'm on my way," he said hanging up the phone.
