JC looked around the airport terminal, seeing face after face.
"Looking for something?" Lance asked, falling in step with JC.
"More like someone, but I don't think she's coming,"JC said looking down.
"I'm not trying to be nosey," Lance began. "But I've always found it helps to talk things out."
"You're right, it's not fair for me to keep you guys in the dark. Y'all are my best friends," JC said apologetically.
"I know that Sharon showed up. Justin told me. But what I don't understand is what she's actually doing here," Lance said.
"I told her she could stay at my place for a few weeks until she found a place of her own," JC told him.
"I have a question," Lance interrupted, "Why on earth would you invite her to stay in your house? Didn't you think Jill would freak?"
"I know, I'm stupid. I don't know what I'm gonna do about this now, but there is one thing I'm sure about. I love Jill. I love her more than anything."
"We'll figure something out. If you love her as much as you say you do, things will work out," Lance assured him.
They reached the waiting area near the gate and took a seat. They heard a faint ringing. Both reached for their cell phones.
"It's me," Lance said flipping his phone open to answer it.
JC slumped down into the chair, miserable. He opened his backpack and pulled out a small notebook and pen and began writing.
"How'd you get your slave-driving bosses to let you have the afternoon off?" Chris was asking Candice.
Candice laughed, thinking back to Alli's reaction when she requested the afternoon off to drive Chris to the airport.
"I hate you right now, you know that right?" Alli had said to her.
"It wasn't easy, let me tell you. I thought Alli was gonna try and sneak out with me."
"Yeah, I bet," Chris said glancing in Joey's direction.
Joey was sitting off by himself re-reading a note Alli had slipped in his bag.
"What a loser. Look at him over there reading some sappy love letter for the thousandth time."
"I think it's sweet," Candice said, shoving him.
"He's so whipped," Chris said laughing.
"And what's wrong with that? Some guys like a dominant woman," Candice told him.
"Oh yeah? Well, I like a woman that can kick my ass at pool."
"Well, you're in luck," Candice said laughing. "I definitely fit that description."
"Matchmaker Productions, this is Jill."
JC took a deep breath, "Jill, it's me. Can we talk?"
"One moment and I'll transfer you," she said coldly.
Before JC could speak she pressed the hold button. JC sat there for a moment listening to the hold music before he finally decided to hang up.
"Jill, who's holding?" Jeff asked, sitting across her desk from her.
"No one," she replied.
"Is everything okay?" he asked with concern, "I thought I heard Alli say the guys were leaving today."
"They are," she said.
"I thought you'd be down there to see JC off," Jeff told her.
"I had no desire to go."
"Really?" Jeff asked, a little too eagerly.
"Yes, can we not talk about JC or NSYNC anymore?" Jill pleaded.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," Jeff said standing up. "I'm gonna leave you alone, okay?"
"You don't have to leave," Jill said following him to the door.
She touched his arm lightly, making Jeff shiver. He turned to face her.
"Jill," he said cupping her face in his hands. "I'm just trying to be your friend."
"I know," she said looking down. I'm just not ready to talk about it."
Jeff fought the urge to kiss her. He didn't want to tell her how he really felt until he knew for sure that she and JC were through. He stepped into the hallway and leaned against the door. He sighed tohimself.
"I've got to talk to Alli," he said, moving towards her office.
"Now boarding, Flight 1350, nonstop from Orlando to New York," Justin and Andie heard over the loud speaker.
"That's me," Justin said, looking down at Andie.
"Already?" she asked disappointedly.
"Unfortunately," he said squeezing her tightly.
"Promise me something," she said quietly.
"Anything," Justin said with a look of concern.
"Promise you'll be honest with me while you're gone. Promise you'll tell me if you find someone else," she whispered.
Justin looked into her eyes, "Andrea, I care too much about you to ever lie to you. I'm not looking for anyone else."
"I know, but sometimes things just happen," Andie said.
"Things don't "just happen" for me," Justin assured her. "Do you think I'd bungee jump with just anyone?"
"I guess not."
"You guess not?" he asked, surprised.
Justin pulled Andie closer to him and kissed her.
"Now what do you think?" he asked.
"You take my breath away," Andie replied, blushing.
"Come on Justin, we're boarding," Joey's voice interrupted.
Justin kissed Andie again and reluctantly let go.
