"I'm bored!" Jaime' whined.
"I know, it's Saturday night and we're just sitting here moping," Andie said.
"I have an idea," Michelle said smiling. "Let's have a slumber party."
"That sounds like fun!" Jenn said excitedly.
"Let's get in our pajamas and play beauty parlor," Andie suggested.
"Oh my God! We are such dorks," Jaime' said laughing.
The four of them took turns giving each other makeovers.
"You look beautiful," Jenn commented on Andie's fake eyelashes and blue eyeshadow.
"I know, I love your new do!" Andie told her.
Jenn had on hot pink lipstick and crimped hair. She also sported fake eyelashes and blue eyeshadow.
"Let's take pictures," Michelle suggested.
They gathered around and snapped a couple polaroids, laughing the whole time.
"I think it's time for a little mood music," Jaime' said walking over to the stereo.
She popped in a cd and the melodic sounds of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper boomed through the speakers. They danced around with each other. The phone rang.
"Maybe it's a boy!" Jaime' exclaimed, running to the phone.
Andie got to it first, "Hello?" she said sweetly into the phone.
"Hey squirt. What's with all the noise?" Alli asked.
"Hey Alli! We're having a slumber party. Wanna come over?"
"I think I might," Alli replied.
"You missed our makeovers but we'll be playing truth or dare later. Get Jill and come over."
"Okay, I'll see you in a little bit," Alli said.
"What's going on over there?" Jill asked.
"They're having a slumber party," Alli told her. "Wanna go?"
Jill envisioned a night of constant boy talk, namely five specific guys, "I'm not in the mood. Besides, there's a Molly Ringwald marathon on tonight," Jill told her.
"Are you sure? It's gonna be fun," Alli said trying to persuade her.
"I'm sure."
"Alli's here!" Michelle exclaimed.
"Makeover time!" Jenn said coming up to her, armed with the blue eyeshadow.
"Have y'all been drinking?" Alli asked when she saw their appearance.
"Nope. This is all natural," Jaime' said.
"Where's Jill?" Andie asked.
They all knew about what happened with Jill and JC, thanks to Alli's big mouth.
"She decided to stay home," Alli told them.
"Bummer," Jaime' commented.
"Come on girls. Let's play truth or dare," Michelle said, sitting on the floor.
"Who's gonna go first?" Jaime' asked.
"I'll go," Andie said, "Jenn, truth or dare?"
Jill flipped through the channels during a commercial. She landed on MTV.
"We have an exclusive interview with the new pop sensation, NSYNC," the VJ was saying.
Jill went to flip the channel but stopped when she saw JC's face. She sat watching the interview, not really hearing what was said. She couldn't take her eyes off of JC's face.
The phone rang. "Hello?"
"Jill, it's Joey, is Alli there?"
"No, she went to Andie's, they're having a slumber party."
"Sounds like fun. Why aren't you there?"
"Oh, you know, they're all probably gonna be giggling and laughing. And of course, talking about y'all. I'm just not into it."
"You're not in to talking about me?" Joey asked, trying to lighten the conversation, "I'm hurt."
"You know what I mean," Jill said laughing. "I don't want to talk about JC."
"Jill, you know he's been miserable since we left," Joey said seriously.
"I've been miserable too, Joey. Do you think I've been enjoying myself?"
"I didn't say that, but maybe you should let him try to explain. He really wants to," Joey said, glancing at JC who had moved closer to him since hearing Joey say her name.
"I'm not really ready yet, Joey. I hope you understand."
"If you wanna talk, you know my number," Joey told her.
"Thanks," she said gratefully. "By the way, tell the guys they missed a killer Magic game the other night. It was awesome."
"Who did you go with? I know it wasn't Alli, she hates basketball."
"Just a friend. He had an extra ticket," Jill informed him.
"Sounds like you had fun."
"Yeah, I did actually. That was the first time I've had fun in about a week."
"It's not serious is it?" Joey questioned, seeing the dread in JC's face.
"No, just friends. You know I love JC."
"That's what I like to hear."
"Do you want me to tell Alli you called?" Jill asked him.
"No, I'm gonna try and reach her at Andie's. I'll talk to you later."
Jill hung up the phone, "I just need to get my mind off of JC and NSYNC," she said picking up the remote and changing the channel.
"What did she say? Did she ask about me? Is she okay? Is she still upset?" JC asked.
"Slow down, Speedy Gonzales. I'll tell you everything," Joey said.
"Joey, I'm begging you. I need to know!"
"Did she say what everyone else is doing?" Lance asked.
"They're having a slumber party at Andie's," Joey told them.
"Oh, to be a fly on that wall!" Justin said with a devious grin on his face.
"Hello? Can we get back to my problem? What did Jill say?" JC demanded.
"She said that she's miserable, but she's not ready to talk to you. She went to the Magic game Thursday night."
"Did she happen to say if it was a good game?" Justin asked, jumping in the line of questioning.
"She said it was awesome," Joey told him.
"Who did she go with?" JC pleaded, hoping he'd say Alli.
"She didn't tell me his name, but she said he isjust a friend."
"Oh, it was a guy?" JC asked, his face dropping.
"Yeah, but she said it's not serious. And she loves you," Joey told him, seeing JC smile like he used to.
"I've got to get her back. I love her so much," JC confessed.
"We know, and we'll do what we can to help," Chris spoke up.
"Thanks guys."
