Chapter Forty Nine

Justin and Andie turned onto his street. Girls with posters were spread out down the sidewalk and lined his driveway.

"Holy shit!" Justin exclaimed.

"Is that a tent?" Andie said.

"I can't even believe this! How do they know where my house is?" Justin asked in disbelief.

"Look at that sign!" Andie said, looking over all the girls in the street.

"I don't think I wanna deal with this right now. Is it okay if we go to Lance's?" Justin asked, looking very uncomfortable.

"That's fine with me," Andie said.

"Let me call him real quick," he said, pulling out his cell phone.

"Hey man, where are you?" Justin asked when Lance answered the phone.

"We're at Jenn's," Lance told him, "My house was crawling with girls."

"Yeah, we just got to my street and I don't think I can make it up my driveway."

"Why don't y'all come here. Me and Jenn are just gonna relax," Lance told him.

"Okay, we're on our way," Justin told him.

"They're on their way?" Jenn asked, sitting on the couch next to Lance.

"Yeah, Justin's house was surrounded too."

"Oh, this is so exciting!" Jenn said smiling.

"It's exciting all right," Lance said a little less enthusiastic.

"I'm sorry, I know it sucks not to be able to go home," Jenn apologized.

"It's okay, I just need to talk to Johnny about getting us some heavier security."

"You can stay here as long as you want," Jenn said, leaning in to kiss him.

"I have something for you," Lance said reaching into his pocket.

"Ooh, what is it? I love presents!" Jenn said excitedly.

Lance pulled a small box out of his pocket, "I hope you like it," he said shyly.

Jenn opened the box to find a pair of gold earrings, "They're beautiful!" she said, throwing her arms around Lance's neck and kissing him. "Thank you," she whispered.

"So we wanna get everyone together tomorrow night," Justin finished.

"I think that's cool. We could have a barbeque and have our families over too," Lance said, "I really want to meet your parents, Jenn."

"It sounds like fun," Andie said, "But where are we gonna have this shindig?"

"We can have it at my house," Justin suggested, "I already talked to Johnny and he's gonna see what he can do about clearing all those girls out."

"So, we'll get everything set up for tomorrow," Lance told them.

"Yeah, just tell whoever you want to invite to be there at 7," Justin told them.

"Are you ready for this?" Alli asked JC.

"I think so," JC said, a little nervous.

"She's gonna love you for this. Don't worry," Alli said hugging JC.

She headed over to the stage and took her place.

"It's gonna be weird hosting by yourself, isn't it?" Jill asked.

"Um, not quite," Alli said grinning.

"What do you mean by that?" Jill asked suspiciously.

"Well, I mean I won't be working alone today."

"Lights! Camera! Action!" Joey said coming up behind them.

"Oh my God!" Jill said laughing.

"Joey, what are you wearing?" Alli asked, looking him up and down.

"You like it? I think I look good!" Joey said smiling, "I especially love these," he said, pointing at his orange boots.

"Whatever!" Jill said laughing.

"Are we ready?" Jeff asked.

"Let's get going," Alli said, ushering Jill to her seat.

The show began and Alli and Joey walked hand in hand out in front of the cameras. They announced the bachelors and then introduced Jill.

"I'm sure our bachelorette needs no introduction," Alli said, "Jill, are you ready with your questions?"

"I'm ready."

"Okay Jill, fire away!" Joey told her.

Jill asked each bachelor each of her questions. She tried to get into the game for the sake of her and Alli's careers but her heart wasn't in it. She had hoped JC would have been there for the taping, just to reassure her that everything was okay between the two of them and he was okay with her doing the show. She asked her last question.

"At the end of your first date, how would you describe your kissing style?"

"Oh man, if the girl is hot, you can compare me to an octopus," Bachelor number one answered.

"Bachelor number two, same question."

"Hmmm, I'd have to say a lizard. My tongue is usually everywhere."

"On a first date?" Jill asked.

"Definitely!" he responded.

"Okay, Bachelor number three, your turn."

"Well, I really don't believe in kissing on the first date," Bachelor number three answered.

"Thanks," Jill said smiling.

"Okay, we're gonna break for commercial now while Jill chooses the lucky bachelor," Alli said.

"Yeah, stay right where you are cuz Chemistry will be right back," Joey said.

The cameras stopped rolling.

"Well?" Alli asked Jill.

"You've seen these guys, right?" Jill asked.

"Yes."

"I think I'm gonna go with Bachelor number three. Do you think that's good?"

Alli looked at Joey and a smile spread across her face, "I don't think you'll be disappointed."

"He's not good looking is he? I don't want JC to be upset."

"Jill, trust me. JC is not going to have a problem," Joey assured her.

"Why am I so nervous?" Jill asked, wringing her hands.

"You shouldn't be. This is the fun part," Alli said, getting back into position.

"We're back from commercial and anxious to hear Jill's selection," Joey said.

"Well, they all had great answers, but, I think I'm gonna go with Bachelor number three."
