Chapter Fifty

"Great! Let's meet the lucky guy. Bachelor number three please come around the wall," Alli said.

Jill stood up and straightened her skirt, she turned to Alli and got a quick thumbs up. When she turned back around she saw JC standing there.

"JC!" she said in surprise.

JC took her in his arms and hugged her tightly, "You don't know how relieved I am. There was a moment when I thought I'd lost you to the octopus man," he whispered in her ear.

"I can't believe you did this," she whispered back.

"So, do we have a little chemistry going on?" Joey asked the two of them.

"Definitely!" Jill said, beaming.

"That's all for our show. Tune in tomorrow," Alli said waving to the camera.

"I love you Jill," JC whispered in her ear as the cameras stopped rolling.

"Ditto," Jill replied back, smiling ear to ear.

"I can't believe you were all in on the show," Jill said again.

The four of them were on their way to Justin's party.

"You don't know how hard it was to keep Joey quiet," Alli said back.

"Hey!" Joey protested, "I kept quiet!"

"You're right, you did. I'm so proud of you," Alli said, grabbing his hand.

"Yeah, good boy. You deserve a Scooby snack," JC said patting him on the head.

They pulled onto Justin's street. Cars lined the road and wound all the way up his driveway.

"I guess Johnny worked his magic. I don't see any girls around," Joey commented.

"You spoke too soon. There are a few girls holding a candle-light vigil across the street," JC said pointing at a group of girls sitting on a neighbor's driveway.

"At least they're not blocking the entrance," Jill said.

"Where should I park?" Alli asked.

"Justin said he had a space cleared for us in the driveway," JC said pointing.

Alli parked the car and they all piled out.

"There's your mom," Joey said to Alli, "Let's go say hello."

Jill and JC were left alone. They wandered around the house just mingling with everyone.

"Hey JC, over here!" Lance called out.

They walked over to their familiar group. Lance and Jenn were eating and Andie and Justin were slow dancing next to the table.

"What a turn out, huh?" Lance asked.

"Yeah, not bad considering you just called everyone yesterday," JC agreed.

"This is so great!" Candice said walking up with Chris following close behind.

"Everyone seems to be having a good time," Justin commented.

He and Andie sat down next to Jenn and Lance.

"Hey guys," Alli said coming up behind them. She gave Andie a quick hug, "Where's Jaime'?" she asked.

"Hot date," Andie told them.

"Okay guys, I want to propose a toast," Justin said, grabbing Andie and raising his glass.

"What are we toasting to?" Lance asked, raising his glass.

"I don't know, I've just always wanted to say that," Justin said laughing.

"Well, you've got us all standing here with our hands in the air looking like doofuses," Chris said.

"Surely someone can thing of something," Jill said.

"I've got something. Here's to spandex!" Joey said looking directly at a girl in a tight dress across the room.

Alli elbowed him, "Behave!" she said laughing.

"No," JC said, "I've got a toast."

They stood there, glasses still raised, waiting for JC.

"Here's to chemistry!"

They all looked at each other and nodded in agreement as their glasses clinked together.
