"I wanted to tell you I was sorry I hadn't called you this week," JC told Jill.
They had moved out of the way to a more quiet table in the corner of the club.
"It's okay, I was just starting to think you forgot how to pick up a phone," Jill said trying to make the conversation light.
"No, it's not okay. I want you to know I wasn't trying to avoid you. We just had a lot going on this week," JC explained.
Jill looked at JC for a moment. She thought about last weekend when she had finally gotten enough courage to tell JC how she really felt. She knew he felt the same way about her but she couldn't understand why he wouldn't act on his feelings. She was crushed when he suddenly had to hang up the phone and then hadn't heard from him all week.
"JC, don't try to fool me. You know I can always tell when you're trying to hide something," she said still feeling hurt.
"I'm not trying to hide anything," JC told her truthfully, "I just wasn't expecting you to drop a bomb like that on me. I do feel the same way about you but I didn't want to jeopardize our friendship," JC continued. "I guess I just needed some time to digest it."
"So, where do we go from here," Jill questioned him.
"Well, most people go HOME when the club closes!" Andie's voice chimed in.
JC and Jill turned to find Andie, Jenn and Jaime' standing there looking exhausted.
"We are going home sometime tonight, right?" Jenn asked them.
"Where's Alli and Joey?" Jaime' asked Jill, "We're ready to go home."
"I don't know," Jill said scanning the bar, "We left them right over there."
"There they are!" Andie said spotting Alli and Joey near the door, "Let's go get them and head out."
They all met up and headed for the parking lot.
When they reached the car JC offered, "Hey, we were planning on doing something fun tomorrow, would ya'll like to come along? You can bring the 'squirts' too."
"Hey!" Andie said, "We're standing right here. Why don't you insult us when we're not around," she joked.
"Okay, call us tomorrow, if you remember how," Jill said looking right at JC.
"I guess I deserve that one." JC said, "We'll call you in the morning."
JC and Joey got in their car and drove away.
