Rachel set down her textbook and opened to her first page of the calculus book. She dredded the subject, but she had put it off all through highshool and now had to take it. She put it off through highschool because it was simply to easy for her and she didn't want any extra math credit. As her mind read over the page she heard someone sit down across from her at the table.
Rachel looked up into a pair of crystal blue eyes with a michevious twinkle. She examined the rest of the person's face and noticed the smile was the same way.
"Hi," Rachel said uneasily, "Can I help you?"
"I'm Brandon," Brandon introuduced himself.
"Rachel," Rachel said flashing a flirt smile. 'He's cute, really cute!'
"Pretty name," Brandon flirted, "Whatchaya doing there Rachel?"
"Studying," Rachel smiled again, "In fact, that's what I must get back to right now!" In actuality she stopped talking to the cutie for an entirely different reason.
Brandon was definatly something to look at. His sandy brown hair and clear blue eyes made him appear simply irresistable with a body to match. But in the back of Rachel's mind she thought of Justin.
Here it was early Novemeber, and their relationship had been going great. He had even surprised her by flying in from NC to bring a picnic lunch. Just thinking of the afternoon last week brought a smile to her face. Rachel focused on Justin and tried to think of a way to say goodbye to this guy, as hard as it may be.
"Surely, you'r enot studying that hard," Brandon smiled his heart melting smile.
"What makes you say that?" Rachel asked not looking up.
"Rachel, I'm in your Calculus class, you have the highest grade in our class," Brandon said informatively.
Rachel smiled again and looked up, "Someone has been doing their history!"
Brandon nodded, "Plus, who needs calc? I can tell you everything you need to know right now!"
"Oh yeah?" Rachel challenged.
"Yes, but then you have to go out with me," Brandon said slyly.
"I'm in a relationship," Rachel dredded saying this to the handsome guy but she had to be honest.
"It oculd be strictly platonic! I swear!" Brandon said crossing his heart and holding his fingers like a boy scout.
Rachel couldn't help the smile tugging at her lips, "Okay, hot stuff, show me whatchya got!" Rachel said shutting her text book.
Brandon grinned evily and stood up on the library table.
Rachel tugged at his leg, "Brandon, what are you doing!" Rachel whispered loudly. Several students were starting to look over.
Brandon smiled down at her, "Here goes!" He whsipered then cleared his throat and began to sing in a suprisingly good voice, "I KNOW MY CALCULUS, IT SAYS YOU + ME = US!!! OOOOHH BABY!"
Rachel blushed deeply as everyone is library turned to stare at their table. Brandon continued to sing and the students gathered around and began clapping as he skipped from table to table. He finally finished and everyone cheered as he walked back to Rachel.
"GO OUT WITH ME?" Brandon asked with puppy dog eyes.
Rachel smiled and nodded and the library erupted in cheers. Rachel looked around and she and Brandon starting laughing. She tugged him out of the library quickly.
Rachel closed the door to her dorm and sat down on her bed, a smile still present on her face.
"Someone's happy!" Nikki said smiling at her friend.
Rachel nodded, "I met this really kewl guy!"
"Just a friend?" Nikki asked studying her friend carefully.
Rachel nodded, "Strictly platonic!"
"Cuz you know there's a guy that would do anything for you and is madly in love with you in NC!" Nikki reminded her friend.
Rachel smiled, "I love him too Niks! Don't worry! How's Lance?"
Nikki smiled at the mention of his name, "He and Justin are roomies so all is well!" The girls both giggled.
"That's too funny it worked out like that!" Rachel rolled her eyes. Then her green eyes turned serious, "So how are you and Lance?"
"Good, as always," Nikki smiled, "Why, how are you and Justin?"
Rachel shrugged, "Good, just the distance puts a lot of tension, ya know?"
Nikki nodded, "And there are sooooo many cute guys here!"
The girls both giggled excitedly.
Rachel sighed before turning off the lamo by their beds, "I just can't wait to see him Thanksgiving for a whole two weeks!"
Nikki smiled into the darkened room, "You and me both sista, you and me both!"
