Chapter Eleven

One Month Later

"Look at my baby boy! He's seven months old! He's growing up so fast!" Rachel smiled at her son in her arms.

"He's a cutie Rach!" Nikki agreed.

Nikki studied her friend carefully. Rachel's green eyes still sparkled with the same kind twinkle. Her blonde hair still shone the way it had the made so many girls envy it in highschool. And her smile was still enthusistic and bright enough to light up the room. The only difference was her child, James.

Rachel had developed and matured and even grown as a person so much. It's amazing how life changes a person. Nikki thought about how much time Rachel and Justin had been spending together. They saw each other at least once every two days and talked on the phone constantly. Nikki was beginning to wonder that if two people could change so much and still find love in each other, were they really meant to be only friends?

"Rachel?" Nikki started.

"Yes?" Rachel said not looking away from James.

"Do you miss Justin?" Nikki asked thoughtfully.

Rachel laughed quietly, "How could I miss him! I see him everyday!"

Nikki shook her head, "No! I mean what you two had. I mean is there still an old spark there?"

Rachel looked at her friend and saw Nikki's smiling eyes were now serious.

"Well, yeah of course, it's there. It's always been there. Justin is everything I want. He completes me. I feel like when I'm with him, nothing in the world matters. But I don't want to start up again and only end up brekaing up again, but this time hurting myself more," Rachel said honestly looking into her friend's eyes.

Nikki nodded. She understood, "But Rach, hun, you really need to tell him about James!"

"When the time is right, I will," Rachel said firmly and the phone rang. Rachel handed Nikki James and hurried into the kitchen to answer it.

"Hello?" Rachel said sweetly.

"Hey Rach! This is Justin," Justin explained.

"Yes, I know it is. What's up Justy?" Rachel wondered.

"Well, I was thinking you could come over and have dinner with me. I'm making spaghetti and it's a big meal for only one person. Whatdaya think?" Justin felt like explaining it was strictly platonic but he figured she already knew that.

Rachel thought, "Hang on Justin," She covered the mouthpiece, "Nikki, could you and Lance watch James while I go have dinner at Justin's?"

Nikki smiled, "Oh la la! I sure can!"

Rachel rolled her eyes, "Yes Justin I'll be right over! I want to help you cook!"

Justin smiled. He felt relieved she said yes, "Okay, cya soon!"

Rachel drove her car quickly while listening to her Celine Dion cd. She arrived at his parent's house, whom were out of town. Rachel marched up to the doorway and rang the bell. She was wearing tight jeans and a red, three quarter sleeved, boat neck sweater. Her hair flowed softly just below her shoulders. She had on her favorite lip stick and little light make-up.

"Hello?" Justin answered the door in jeans and an oversized gray sweater that looked amazing on him.

"Hey," Rachel smiled.

Justin's brown eyes wandered down her body quickly and back up, "You look nice!"

"You too!" Rachel smiled, "Can I come in?"

Justin nodded, "Yeah, of course! Sorry!" He opened the door and shut it behind her. Justin led the way to his couch and Rachel sat down across from him.

Rachel studied him closely, "You know what Justy boy?"

Justin was puzzled, "What?"

Rachel reached out and ruffled his head, "You need a haircut!"

Justin put on a puppy dog face, "What's wrong with my hair?"

Rachel smiled, "It's too long silly! You'll have a fro before you know it! And then where will you be? You already act ghetto fab my sweetheart, we don't need a hair style to go with it!"

Justin laughed, "So cut it Rach!"

"What?" Rachel stared at him.

Justin got up and got scissors, "Cut it! Right here right now! You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?"

Rachel felt a challenge coming on and she couldn't resist it, "Okay Justin but do you trust me?"

Justin smiled and nodded.

Rachel laughed, "Then follow me cutie pie!"

Rachel walked down the endless hallway of the well kept house to the master bedroom. On the way she grabbed a wheeled chair from the office and brought it with her. She pulled out and towel and told Justin to take a seat. When he did she stuffed the towel partly in his sweater. She turned the chair around and told Justin to lean back and put his head in the sink.

Justin obeyed. Rachel took out some shampoo and began to massage it into his scalp. Justin closed his eyes and tried to ignore the sensation. He was thankful when she was finally finished washing his hair. She wrapped a towel and dried his hair, then sat him up.

Rachel stepped behind Justin. She picked up the scissors. She began running her fingers through his curly mane. Slowly and softly she picked up small pieces and cut the tips.

Justin closed his eyes in pleasure. He had to bit his lip to keep a moan from escaping. It had been so long since Rachel had touched him. Feeling her warm hands against him sent tingles throughout his body. He was turned on instantly and prayed he could contain himself. As he watched her in the mirror he could see her concentrating and knitting her brow. Her lips were pursed slightly and he thought they begged to be kissed. He wanted nothing more than to kiss her at that instant. It would be so easy to reach out and wrap his arms around her waist and kiss her passionatly like they used to. He yearned to, he ached to with every muscle in his body. But instead he subsided to sitting quitly while she cut his hair.

Rachel moved around to cut the front of his hair. She bent down in his face to make things even. While her eyes were looking at his scalp she could feel his eyes on her lips. Finally she locked eyes with him. She felt herself slipping into the trance he had over her. Before she could even think about the consequences she locked lips with him.

Justin pressed his lips to hers. Something he had dreamed of doing for ages. And as quickly as it began, it was over.

Rachel looked into his brown eyes. She was searching for something, anything, a sign that he loved her. She could feel the old sensations coming back as they kissed. Even in the spilt second, she felt a bond with him. She felt he was opening up his sole to her, and he was the only that could make her feel that way. She closed her eyes and he kissed her again, with more force. Soon they were entwined in each other's arms and kissing like old times.

Rachel pulled away, "Justin, I can't!"

Justin got a hurt look on his face, "Why?"

Rachel shook her head, "Before this goes any further, there's something you have to know."

"Okay, what?" He asked sweetly playing with her hair.

"Come over to my place. It will be easier to talk there!" Rachel said softly.

Justin smiled, "Don't worry baby, it's okay. Lead the way!"

"Can I make a quick phone call first?" Rachel asked politely.

Justin nodded with another quick smile.

Rachel had called Nikki and asked her to leave about five minutes before they got there, which would be in twenty. Nikki understood why Rachel made her request and agreed without questioning.

Rachel was a nervous wreck the entire drive. When she reached the apartment she was dreading each step as she lead Justin up to her room.

"Nice place," Justin said as her surveyed all around, "Now what did you have to tell me?" He asked turning back to her.

Rachel swallowed the lump in her throat, "Follow me," She said leading him towards James's room.

The whole way down the hallway seemed like eternity. Rachel kept wondering 'How will he take it?' , 'Will he be mad I didn't tell him sooner?', 'Will he be glad he has a son?', and most importantly, 'Will he still love me?'
