Lance grimaced as he opened the personals. He sighed when he read his task.
Lance~Tell mom got girlfriend pregnant
Lance felt like crying. September wasn't even around for him to get pregnant.
Might as well get it overwith, he thought. He slowly picked up the phone and dialed his mother's number even more slowly.
"Hello?" came Diane Bass's voice.
"Hey Ma," Lance sighed wearily.
"Lance honey! How are you? You don't sound well."
"I'm not doing too well Ma."
"What's wrong honey?"
"Well you know September? My girlfriend?" Lance quickly rubbed his eyes.
"Yes."
"Well Ma. . .she's. . .she. . .she might be pregnant." Lance cringed as he waited for her reaction.
"What? How could you do something so stupid? What happened to the sweet innocent boy I raised?"
"Ma. . .we aren't certain. . .we'll keep you posted. Bye."
He quickly hung up the phone and glared at it. He had never once hung up on his mother. He knew that he would hear it from her later.
At least it's over with, he thought to himself. He laid his head din his hands and stayed that way until he couldn't tell where his ass ended and the chair began.
Joey dialed Lulu's house. She picked up on the first ring.
"Hello?" her voice sounded raw, as if she had been crying for a very long time.
Joey hated doing this to her but he needed to drop someone. "Hey. We need to talk," Joey said in as kind a voice as possible.
"Yeah," she agreed.
"Lulu I. . ."
"Wait! I know what you're going to say and frankly I hate your guts. I can't believe that I fell for all of your bullshit. I never want to see you again, Joey."
The phone clicked off.
Joey stared at it dumbly. At least he had one less thing to worry about.
