Chapter Five

"It's been seven days!" said JC, leaning back in his chair, "And nothing's happened!" Mariette looked at him worriedly. Of course they were referring to JC's personal ad.

JC~Sing wrong lyrics at next concert

One week ago they hadn't even been aware that they were doing any concerts in Florida. But shortly after JC recieved his task Johnny called and told them that they would be performing several small concerts in the Orlando area.

JC refused to make even the slightest mistake and performed beautifully as usual.

"There was no time limit on the punishment," Mariette reminded them.

She had been extremely antsy all week. From lack of sleep and worrying about JC.

"It was just some sick joke. Probably one of us trying to scare the others. But then they realized that it was freaking us out and stopped." He bent down and kissed Mariette. "Don't worry nothing is going to happen."

"I totally agree with you JC," said Lance.

Justin was a little worried about him. He had gone to the doctor's and they said that he had extremely low blood sugar and he might have diabetes. He was prescribed pills that he needed to take three times a day. He was also on a sugar free diet.

He took his pills but he didn't really stick to his diet. He was sick a lot lately and paler than usual but he insisted that he was fine and it was just some side effects of the pills.

They were all sitting on September's porch. Their official meeting place. Justin stole a quick glance at Jamie. She was looking at him. When he smiled at her, she blushed and turned her head.

His lunch with her had been great. He had gone out with other girls, of course, but they had only focused on who he was. Justin Timberlake. They either complemented him on his looks, his voice, or his basketball skills.

But Jamie had been refreshingly different. At first she had been like all of the rest. Complementing things that were beyond his power to control.

She must have realized from his noncommittal grunts that he didn't want to talk about his stardom. So she talked about normal things. And he was really able to open up to her.

Lulu looked over at Joey. He hadn't really been talking to her since that night, he had returned home. She walked over to him.

"Joey!" she said, sitting in his lap and kissing him on the lips. "Have you been avoiding me?"

"No!" he exclaimed. "Of course not! Why would you be thinking that?"

"Well, you haven't called."

"I've been working out. I've decided that I need to get buff." He kissed her. He could never admit to her the real reason why he had been avoiding her.

"Oh goody!"

"Wanna have dinner tonight?"

"Dinner? Don't you mean sex?" she asked playfully. Joey remained dead serious.

"Dinner. We need to talk," he said just as seriously.

Lulu got nervous. What if he breaks up with me? she wondered. They did have an open relationship but there was no one else for her.

She loved him.

The realization hit her like a ton of bricks. If he broke up with her she'd go crazy.

"Ummmm. . . .OK," she agreed.

"September?" Lance asked. She was sitting next to him. She looked at him and blushed, he smiled. "Do you have any chocolate cake?"

"You can't have that," she whispered. "It'll make you sick."

"It's easier to take my pills with chocolate cake," he pouted.

"Couldn't you just take it with water?" she asked, he was wearing down her defenses.

"No," he gave her the puppy dog face.

She sighed and he smiled. It was so easy to smile around her.

"Thank you September," he said, getting up to follow her into the kitchen.

"I don't know why I'm doing this," she said, cutting off a slice of cake.

She handed him the plate. His green eyes seemed to penetrate into her very soul. He licked his lips. She almost dropped the cake.

He put a small white pill in his mouth. He broke off a small piece of cake and brought it to his lips. He chewed slowly, savoring every morsel.

"Mmmm," he said after he had swallowed. "Did you make it yourself?"

"Yeah," said September shakily.

"Yummy."

"You. . .you have. . .a. . .a crumb," she said, pointing to her own face. He smiled sexily.

"Why don't you just get it for me?" he asked, leaning back on the counter.

She hesitated a moment before leaning in to brush it away.

Her hand reached up and flicked the small crumb away, but before she could retreat Lance's hand shot out and gently shackled her wrist. He pulled her toward him. Before September knew what was happening, Lance's lips were lowering onto her own.

His lips were soft and she sighed dreamily. She had never been kissed and this was pure heaven. Lance's lips moved over hers slowly and with intoxicating skill. His grip on her wrist loosened until her hand fell away. He wrapped his arms around her back and urged her closer. She wasn't quite sure what to do with her hands so she placed them on his broad shoulders.

His tongue entwined with hers, coaxing it to join in the fun. September moaned softly and pulled away.

"What?" he asked her. He was breathing heavily and his face was slightly flushed.

"Nothing. . .I've. . .I've never been kissed before and. . ."

"You've never been kissed before?" he asked her stunned. "Why?"

"Because I've never had a boyfriend and I'm not a slut and. . ."

"You've never had a boyfriend?"

She blushed.

"No! What's with all the questions?"

He brushed a curly tendril or hair behind her ear.

"I'm just thinking of all the firsts I am for you."

"What?" September gaped. "You like Jamie!"

"I did and I never really noticed you. But then one day I did. You're sweet and you're cute, which is an added bonus. I've liked you for a while now," he admitted shyly.

"I've liked you forever!" September blurted. He chuckled in his deep, sexy voice.

"Good."

"So we're going out?" she asked.

"Yeah. I. . ." he began but was interrupted by Jamie.

"Hey! What are you two up too?" she asked jovially.

"Nothing!" said Lance and September simultaneously.

"OK," said Jamie, knowing that something was up with them. "Everyone is leaving so why don't you come to say goodbye." Jamie walked out of the room, obviously pissed off that she was being excluded.

"That was close," whispered September.

"Why? You don't want her to know about us?" he joked.

"We'll tell her in a minute," said September.

She felt that Jamie threatened her relationship with Lance. Lance grasped September's hand firmly and walked out onto the porch. He cleared his throat.

"Before we all leave September and I have something we'd like to say."

Everyone looked at them expectantly.

"We're a couple," said September holding up their clasped hands.

"Wow, it's about time you two knuckleheads got together," said Chris.

Everyone laughed.

"Oh," said Jamie. "So that explains what I saw in the kitchen!"

As everyone was laughing and joking Tripetta glanced at Chris. They were still living together, he just slept on the couch. Around everyone they appeared to be a happy couple. She sighed. Things would never be the same between them.

"Well, we're gonna get going!" said JC.

He and Mariette had their arms wrapped around each other. Mariette had been staying with JC. Her family though that she was staying with Jamie.

"I. . .I think that I'm going to stay with September," said Mariette.

"Why?" pouted JC.

"I need to get some sleep," she said, running her fingers over his face. "I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen. Why don't we all just stay here?"

"I would still have to go home and get some stuff," he pointed out.

"I don't want you to get into that car," she said.

"Don't worry, I'll be right back," he kissed her and climbed into the car.

Lance kissed September softly and also got into the car. Mariette eatched nervously as the car pulled away from the curb. The car began to swerve in the middle of the road and crashed into a tree.

The front of the car was completely crushed, like a tin can. Mariette stood riveted to the spot as everyone else crowded over to the car. JC and Lance crawled out somehow. Mariette ran over to JC and wrapped her arms around him.

"I told you!" she said sternly, even though she was kissing him. "Thank God you are safe!"

"Maybe I will stay here," he said shakily, wrapping her arms around her. September walked over to Lance.

"I'm glad you're safe," she said shyly.

He nodded and held open his arms. September cuddled into them, her head resting on his chest. She could hear his heartbeat.

"I'm glad that I'm safe too. If I wasn't I wouldn't be able to do this," he said huskily. He tilted her head up and brushed his lips over hers.

Justin examined the car. The brakes hadn't been tampered with and he couldn't figure out what was wrong. At first nothing was visible but then he noticed the dark red fluid smeared over the brakes. A closer inspection revealed that a series of tiny holes had punctured them. If the screws had simply been loosened the fluid would have poured out the second that JC hit the brakes. But the holes prevented that from happening until after he had hit the brakes four or five times.

"Were they messed with?" asked JC.

"Yeah," said Justin. "We should probably call and ambulance or something."

"It must have happened recently," said Chris.

"No one was here but us though," said Joey.

"We should call. . ." said Justin.

"Not yet," said Lance, closing his eyes and pulling September close.

"But if you're hurt. . ."

"Right now I just want to thank God that I'm alive and thank God that I'm able to hold my girlfriend."

"I'm just glad that no one is hurt and that I didn't get into the car," said Mariette rubbing her hands soothingly over JC's back.

Everyone turned to look at her suspiciously.

Joey looked at Lulu.

"I'm not mad at you," he said slowly.

"You just don't want to be with me anymore!" ejaculated Lulu.

"That isn't what I meant!"

"Then what do you mean?" she said, trying to hide her fear behind anger.

"I just want to make sure that my feelings for you are real before this gets anymore serious."

"How more serious could it get?"

"I think I've fallen in love with you Lulu!" he blurted.

She looked at him with tears shining in her eyes.

"Do you mean that?"

He nodded his head.

"I think I do."

"Oh Joey!" she cried happily, jumping into his arms and kissing him. "I knew that I loved you but I didn't know that you loved me! I am so happy!"

"So am I," he said hollowly. "So am I."

Tripetta laid in bed and stared up at the ceiling.

So close, yet so far, she thought bitterly to herself. Chris had apologized that day at the school, one week ago, but things were still strained between them.

Tripetta slept in the bed that they had once shared and Chris slept on the couch. They rarely spoke or looked at one another and they certainly weren't making love.

Her hands drifted over her body, and rested on her stomach. She needed him so badly right now. Over the past two months that Chris had been gone and the two weeks that he had been back Tripetta had become newly acquainted with her body.

Chris was laying on the couch thinking about her. She was driving him crazy, and over one stupid little comment on his part. For the two months that he had been on tour he had become newly acquainted with his right hand. He had looked forward to coming home and enjoying the real thing. But because of his remark, it looked as though he would have to stay acquainted with his hand.

Tripetta lay in the king sized bed on the black and silver satin sheets. Just thinking about the night before he left on tour made her hot and wet.

She lifted the hem of her nightgown and slid her hand between her legs. She kicked the sheets off so that she could have better access to herself.

Her cool fingers moved over her engorged flesh, imagining it was Chris's tongue. She tried to bite back a moan as she approached her climax, but it slipped out. She hoped that Chris hadn't heard.

Chris sat up on the couch. He thought that he had heard a whimper. It sounded a little like Busta. He got up and walked down the hallway wearing only his boxers. He glanced into the bedroom that he had used to share with Tripetta and he got an immediate hard on at what he saw.

Tripetta was laying on her back as she worked on herself. She had her eyes closed and was whimpering softly.

"Chris!" she moaned deeply. Chris was shocked. She was imagining it was him. At least it isn't some other guy, he thought.

He slowly walked over to the bed as if in a trance. Unable to restrain himself he brushed a finger over her cheek.

Tripetta's eyes flew open in shock. Her lower lips trembled and she looked like she was about to cry.

"Chris. . .I. . .I," she began, but Chris cut her off with his lips on hers.

He moved his lips over her mouth and rested his head against her heaving breasts.

"I am so sorry for what I said. I didn't mean it like that," Chris said.

"I'm sorry too Chris. I overreacted, but you really hurt me," said Tripetta, stroking his hair.

"I was upset and worried about the whole letter thing. I think I'm over it now," he said, moving his lips to her throat.

Tripetta held him tightly never wanting to let him go. As his lips alternately licked and sucked his hands worked to get her nightgown off. Finally fed up with it, he ripped it from her body, leaving her naked beneath him.

Tripetta could feel his hardness pressing into her abdomen through his boxers. His lips closed around a throbbing nipple. As his tongue and his lips sucked on one, his fingers played with the other. He switched breasts and then began to trail wet kisses down her stomach. Tripetta moaned when she realized his intent.

He spread her legs wide and licked her womanhood. Tripetta moaned and arched off of the bed, offering more of herself to him. He gladly took her silent invitation and thrust his tongue into her. He gently bit at her clit and Tripetta screamed from incredible pleasure.

When she had been doing herself Chris had stopped her before she reached her climax, leaving her aching for more. Now she wanted to climax while his mouth was over her but Chris surprised her by removing his mouth and kissing her deeply.

"Please Chris.. . .I need. . .I need," she panted.

"I know," he replied, wiggling out of his boxers.

He didn't want her to orgasm, not yet, not until they were fully joined together. He was about to thrust into her when Tripetta stopped him.

She quickly rolled a condom onto his erect member. She smiled at him tremulously.

Chris pushed into her body with one quick, hard thrust. Tripetta groaned and ran her hands over his chest. His skin was hot to touch from the fire that they had created within each other.

Chris deftly flipped her over and Tripetta kneeled on her hands and knees. Chris thrust into her from behind and reached around her with his hands. He found her clit and rubbed his fingers against it, bringing her closer to her orgasm.

He felt the walls around him tightening and he let her climax bring him to his own release.

"Oh God," he groaned as he spilled himself into the condom.

He pulled her firmly into his arms after discarding the condom. Their sweaty bodies were meshed together.

"I love you Chris," she murmured as she fell asleep.

"I love you too," he whispered as he also drifted off to slumber.

Joey carefully disentangled himself from Lulu. He pulled on his boxers and walked into the kitchen.

He silently picked up the phone and began to dial the now familiar number. They beep of the keys seemed to echo loudly in the still apartment.

"Hello?" asked a sleepy voice.

"Hey," he whispered into the receiver.

"Hey baby," said Sasha leaning up in bed. "I miss you. When are you gonna come and see me again?" she asked, longing in her voice.

"Not for a while," he sighed. "I told Lulu that I loved her."

"What?"

"She was bugging me. I only told her that to get her off of my back. Don't worry, you're still the number one woman in my life." Sasha pouted on the other end of the line.

"Well, is everything going OK?" she asked.

"Everything is going perfectly, except for having to tell Lulu that I loved her."

"Everything other than that is perfect though?" she asked, a note of suspicion entering her voice.

"Well. . .Lance has diabetes," said Joey reluctantly. He didn't want to drag his friends into this.

"Really?" asked Sasha beginning to get interested. "So he has to take insulin shots right?"

"No. . .it isn't serious. He takes pills."

"Oh," said Sasha disappointed. "Well, when he comes in to the clinic for his next checkup I'll take good care of him."

"Yeah," said Joey. He heard a noise from the other room. "Listen, I gotta go. Bye," he said and hung up.

He quickly got back into bed with Lulu and pulled her close. Then he remembered.

Lance had a doctor's appointment the next day.
