(Five days later)
Ryan was more depressed than ever. After she thought her and Lance were maybe going on the right track. He was completely ignoring her. If she thought that his attitude was bad then, she was in for a big treat now. Ryan played it smart and stayed distant from Lance. But she couldn't stay like this forever; she needed to know what was bothering him.
"Why so down Rye?" Ryan was knocked out of her thoughts and looked at Joey.
"Oh…umm, nothing Joe, don't worry about it."
"Then please smile for me?" Ryan exhaled sharply getting annoyed.
How could he always be so chipper? Someone shoved sunshine up his butt. Ryan snapped out of her world and forced a smile for Joey. Ryan felt someone's prying eyes on hers. She sighed getting more annoyed. She turned to face the person.
"Typical Lance…really!"
Lance crossed his arms, his usual thing. "Are you this low again? What happened NOW that you're mad at me?"
The table became silent.
"I dunno Miss Joleigh, you tell me!"
"Miss Joleigh? Since when have we became professional?"
"God Chris, shut up!" Chris rose his hands up defensively.
"Lance! Don't take this out on Chris! This is between you and me!" Lance chuckled evilly, making Ryan get goose bumps.
"That's where you're wrong! This involves ALL of us." Ryan looked around the table, not understanding what he meant.
"It does?" Joey asked, just as confused as Ryan was.
"Yes, Joey! All of us…"
Lance leaned forward, putting all his pressure up against the table in front of him.
"Why don't you full us all in on your little plan Ryan?"
Ryan looked at Lance blankly. "Umm…maybe you should, cause I have no clue what you're talking about."
"OH STOP PLAYING DUMB WITH ME RYAN!"
Ryan jumped, not expecting him to yell at her. Her emotions started to take control. "I-I…"
"TELL US RYAN!"
Ryan's eyes started to water, he vision becoming blurry.
"Lance, quiet down! We're in a public place!"
Lance's eyes traveled from JC, back to Ryan were she was wiping off free fallen tears.
"Don't pull the tears guilt Ryan. They're not going to help you here."
"Lance stop! What's gotten into you?"
"I dunno Justin…maybe that Ryan is a lying, deceitful, ungrateful twit has gotten to me."
"What the hell do you want from me?"
Lance slammed his fists on the table, shaking everything light. "The TRUTH! There's no use in hiding Ryan. I know everything!"
Ryan wiped a tear from her cheek and sniffed two times. "Tell me Lance…what is it that you know?"
Lance leaned back into the chair and folded his arms comfortably on his stomach.
"I know why you came to this job Ryan. To cover yourself up, you were fired from USA Today. Your plan is spread job threatening rumors about each and every one of us and sell the information to the biggest new corporation's. NOT only that…but you want to destroy NSYNC itself…all this time were you lying. Everything was a lie. Now that we've befriended you'd think that we would never accuse you of such a thing!"
Ryan's watery, red eyes looked up at Lance and she felt like she was going to throw up. She took a few deep breaths before she spoke her mind.
"How DARE you accuse me of DISLOYALTY Lance! None of this information is true! It's ALL lies…I don't know who had given you this absurd information-"
"Face it Ryan! You've been caught! I got this information from a primary source!"
By this time Ryan was blinded in tears, she couldn't believe that this was happening to her. They were charging her with disloyalty. Who would give such unreliable information? Ryan wiped the tears out of her eyes so she could see. She wished hadn't. All five guys stared at her in disbelief. The looks on their faces broke her heart. She knew that she didn't have a chance in the world of them believing her word over Lance's. They trusted him; he was a brother to them. Ryan, she was just another acquaintance.
"Ryan…how could you?"
Ryan couldn't bear to look JC in the eye. He was the one that cared the most about her. Now their friendship was crumbled to pieces.
"I didn't…THESE ARE ALL LIES!" Ryan's chest rose up and down quickly. "I can't believe you guys would actually consider me an applicant to this conspiracy! This is INSANE…You'll never believe me! Why would you? I've always been the odd man out…this isn't any different from any other time."
With that Ryan got up from her chair and ran off, not turning back. The five guys sat there, speechless. None of them knew that sweet, innocent Ryan could have that side to her. Of course they believed Lance…but it was just so hard to imagine.
"I can't believe that she was capable of doing a such a thing…" JC cupped his cheek in his hand, not know what to believe.
"I guess that we didn't know that side of her…nor did we know the REAL her." looked up at Lance then back down at his drink and just thought to himself.
Ryan ran until she couldn't breathe any longer. The tears were streaming down her face. She looked around, trying to find out where she was. She looked up a street sign and realized she was only three blocks away from their hotel. She wiped her tears once again and started to walk in the right direction.
The whole way to the hotel her mind recapped what happened minutes before. The visual refueled fresh tears. About twenty-five minutes pasted and Ryan finally reached the hotel. She moped through the lobby. She made her way to elevator and weakly pressed the up button. The elevator doors opened, Ryan walked in and number four. Her eye's remained on the carpet the whole way through.
Ryan unlocked the door to her room and walked into it, heading straight towards the bed. She plunged face first in the flushed bedding. Minutes later the pillow was soaked by tears.
How was she going to handle the last four days? There was no way she could make it. She couldn't face these guys, because of what they thought of her. Ryan wasn't a strong person; she couldn't stand up for her self. At least not very well. At this point and time Ryan hated her life more than ever. She couldn't stand to be here, being surrounded with people that hate her. She needed to leave…now.
