(One week later)
Ryan sat still, looking out the bus window, amazed by her new surroundings.
"I can't believe this..." she mumbled under her breath.
All Ryan could see was palm tree after palm tree, something she had never seen in New York. Ryan had to admit to her self, the site of the city was beautiful. The clouds were thin and puffy and high in the sky. With a bright shade of blue tinting the sky.
As the bus rolled to a stop, people started to exit. Ryan glanced out the window and saw a pretty tall gray building. The address looked familiar to her, but she couldn't figure it out. It finally hit her that it was JIVE. She grabbed her bags and pushed her way off of the crowded bus.
Ryan looked up at the tall building and swallowed deeply. She sighed to herself and started to walk into the unfamiliar place. As she entered the building, Ryan made a full 360-degree turn, looking over how beautiful it was inside.
Ryan snapped out of her trance and walked up to the main desk and waited patiently for the women to get off the phone.
"Hi, may I help you?"
"Yes...I'm Ryan Haley Joleigh...I'm here for my new job that I was given, and--"
"Oh yes, Ms. Joleigh! We've been expecting you. Welcome to JIVE."
Ryan smiled and shook the women's extended hand.
"You'll want to go up to the third floor and take a right. Your office is the sixth door on the left."
Ryan blinked slowly a few times and tried to regain her self. "Did...D-did you s-say office?"
The women nodded her head and smiled warmly at Ryan. Ryan shook her head with her mouth hanging loosely. Ryan thanked the women and took her directions.
The elevator doors pushed open, revealing the third floor. She turned to the right and ran dead smack into someone. Ryan rubbed her forehead in pain with a light moan. Her eyelids slowly opened. She saw a man; he seemed like he was in his early 20's, he was also holding his head from the impact. He opened his eyes revealing these full of life blue eyes. His hair was somewhat gelled, and spiked up. He half smiled at Ryan, showing his face frame.
"I'm sorry..." they both said in unison.
He smiled again and moved around Ryan and entered the elevator. When the door shut, Ryan blushed and laughed to her self.
She finally reached the sixth door, which was slightly opened. Ryan slowly walked into the office and took a look around. It was pretty good looking office. It wasn't anything fancy, but Ryan didn't care about that. The walls were a cream color with the texture of little bumps. There was a large sized window behind her desk where she has a wonderful view of Downtown Orlando.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Ryan shot around from the window and was greeted by an African American male. Ryan smiled shyly and nodded. "Ryan...right?" he asked pointing his index finger in her direction.
"Yep."
"Johnny Wright. I'll be taking care of you for now on. Welcome to Orlando."
Ryan smiled and shook his hand. She could all ready tell that she was going to like this man. He had a great personality, along with a friendly tone.
"Are you ready to get to work?" Ryan half smiled. If only she could tell him that she was. She had NO idea what her job was. No one ever filled her in with that information.
"Um...I was never told what I would be doing..."
Johnny started to laugh, making Ryan feel a pure fool. "I-I so sorry! I can't believe that Zelek didn't tell you! That's SO horrible...Well, let me fill you in you poor thing!" He sat down on a near by white couch and patted the empty seat next to him.
Ryan sat down, giving Mr. Wright her full attention. For twenty minutes Johnny explained how she was going to be Co-Journalist for all the necessary motives of a group called *N SYNC. Ryan would be in charge of the *N SYNC web site and writing all the updates for the site. Ryan would also handle magazines and she would write an exclusive article on *N SYNC once a month.
Ryan nodded her head at every statement that he listed. Ryan then received the full impact of this job. It was going to take a lot of time, effort and strength out of her to complete these tasks. Ryan was totally willing.
"Have you ever heard of *N SYNC?"
Ryan shook her head as she walked down the hallway with Johnny. Even though Ryan wrote for Entertainment sections, she was never aware of *N SYNC. Maybe it was because she always did stuff on the other side of the business, like KORN and Blink 182.
"Well, you'll probably be meeting them later in the week, when their schedule is clear," Johnny laughed to himself before turning to Ryan. "I apologize for Chris ahead of time..."
Ryan fully smiled for the first time all day. She was finally beginning to feel like she belonged here. They stopped in front of Ryan's door.
"Have you met Anne yet?"
Ryan shook her head vigorously.
"Well, She's right down the hall. I'd recommend visiting her. But I gotta run. The guys are having a Photo shoot in twenty and I have to be there. It was a pleasure meeting you. I guess I'll see you later!"
Ryan said her good byes and watched Johnny rush down the hall. Ryan ran her hand through her medium length brown hair and finally breathed for what seemed like the first time in forty minutes. She regained herself and felt brave so she headed down the hall in search other new roommate, Anne Jamison.
