Alyssa shivered following Wayne. He was leading her to the rocks, that lined the coast of the water.
"Just be careful up here, but I need you to sit, and have your feet dangling over. Make sure we can read your lips, and just have a daydreaming type look on your face when you sing. Turn your head, do whatever," Alyssa shook her head, showing she understood.
She followed his instructions waiting for the music to start around her. She mouthed the words of the song she had sung countless times. It felt kind of akward lip singing, but she kept going. She looked upward, closing her eyes briefly as she sang, trying to give it more of a happy, carefree vibe. When the music stopped she looked up raising her eyebrows in expectation.
Justin yawned, tilting his head upward towards the sky. The sun was starting to go down, causing the sky to turn an array of colors. He had been out here with Alyssa the entire day. He wanted to be there, to show her his support, and to experience her first video with her ... but he was getting tired. He hadn't gotten much sleep the night before because he had to catch his flight out here. And now, being out in the sun all day just drained the energy out of him more. His irritability level was rising with every shot. He just wanted this video to be over, and to get hold Alyssa, and relax with her for the limited time he had left before he had to catch his midnight flight.
"OK, this scene is very important. We need to get it in before it gets dark..." Alyssa nodded her head, closing her eyes as three people ran over refreshing her makeup.
"Alyssa, you know exactly what to do sweetie. Start off with you two chasing each other..." Alyssa smiled, waiting for her cue. The actor chosen for the video was tall with dark features. His skin was olive toned, matching perfectly with his dark chocolate eyes and hair. He was simply in a pair of dark green swimming shorts, his toned body left uncovered.
As soon as the music started Alyssa skipped ahead of him, kicking sand around her feet. He chased after grabbing her from behind. She laughed as she was supposed to, as his hands closed around her bare stomach. She stiffened a little when she felt his warm breathe against her neck. She closed her eyes softly waiting for the part she knew was coming. His lips lightly brushed the skin on her neck before she turned around. She ran her hands up his muscular arms, all the way up to his face. She touched the side of his face lovingly leaning in closer to him.
Justin watched tensely from the side. He hadn't realized exactly that the video required this much touching, and loving. He swallowed the emotions rising in his throat, and remembered that she was just acting. He held his breathe waiting for the kiss he knew was coming. He watched Alyssa's lips part lightly, as the actor wrapped his arms all the way around her waist, closing the distance between them. Their lips touched briefly before they pulled away, Alyssa moving closer to him once more. Her lips came inches to his ears as she slowly whispered the rehearsed words.
"I Love You..." She paused again before walking away from him, teasing him by calling him over with her finger. She whispered again. 'You make me Happy..."
Justin turned away. That was the absolute worst thing he could have witnessed. Although it was only acting, and he knew that it still hurt to see her whisper the words he wanted to hear so badly to another person.
It was completely dark by the time they called it a rap. Everyone was tired, and ready to jus relax. Justin had already walked to Alyssa's trailer when she walked in the door.
"Hey ... long day huh?" She forced a smile, yawning.
"Yeah... I'm exhausted. You did great though sweetie..." Justin stood up to hug her. She collapsed in his arms, snuggling up against him. Justin sighed patting her back comfortingly. he was more than tired, irritated, and frustrated ... but his made it all worth it. Although he was still upset about the video ... more than he should be.
"Justin, we need to get out of here in 30 minutes..." Alyssa pulled away when her trailer door was opened by Lance.
"Heard of knocking man?" Justin couldn't contain the anger rising in his throat.
"Sorry... I didn't mean to interrupt whatever you two guys were doing," Lance raised his eyebrows, making Justin roll his eyes.
"A minute please?" Justin motioned Lance out, sighing in frustration. When Lance closed the door Alyssa walked back up to Justin laying back on his shoulder. He pulled away, moving back wards.
"Let's not get into something we are not going to finish," Alyssa crinkled her nose going to hug him one more time.
"Alyssa...I better just say good-bye." Alyssa furrowed her eyebrows at the harshness of his voice.
"OK, whatever" She turned away from him, not wanting to upset him or herself anymore. Justin ran his hand through his curly hair, and over his face looking back up at her.
"Look baby, It's not you, I'm just tired, and frustrated that's all," He felt bad for being so short with her, but he couldn't help it at all. He didn't want to leave her, and getting interrupted in the only quiet time they had only added to his frustration.
"I'll see you again in about 2 weeks... I'll call you tomorrow. I Love you baby..." Justin reached pulled her against him kissing her head lightly. He listened for her response, hearing nothing but a sniffle.
"And I-I..." Alyssa closed her eyes burrowing her head in Justin's shoulder. Justin felt a sharp pain in his heart pulling away from her again.
"Oh ... this is not happening," He mumbled to himself. Alyssa looked up, surprised by his anger.
"Justin... I'm sorry... I just,"
"I KNOW Alyssa. It doesn't matter how many times i PROVE myself, and my LOVE TO YOU ... it's not enough. You sit there and say it to a guy you've never meant without a problem ... but me..."
"That was acting Justin." Alyssa was getting defensive now. Justin shook his head, not able to control his pain and anger.
"Yeah, I know Alyssa...it's a point. You'd rather say it to a complete stranger than me. You know, I pour my heart and soul out to you, and get nothing in return. NOTHING. I give you anything you want, I got you here ... and you-you don't. Love isn't one sided Alyssa....it takes two to love hunny. So, maybe I'm not to sure about my feelings either," Alyssa was taken back by his coldness.
He was being completely hostile with her, unlike anything she had EVER seen out of before. She didn't know whether to be angry or upset. her feelings were a mixture of both.
"How DARE you say I don't care. You have NO idea what I've been through ... you can't even begin to FATHOM what it feels like to be smacked around, and stripped of ALL your worth. You can't possibly imagine how hard it is to get over something like that ... you NEVER will. I thought you understand that I'm still healing, and I;m still gaining back the trust I have in people. You said you would be THERE FOR ME. Not, not ... not turn around and act like HIM..."
Tears flowed freely down Alyssa's cheeks, her loud words turning into sobs. Justin's face softened as he watched the black mascara tears drip down her face. his hand gently touched her arm, before she yanked it away shivering. Just like she had done before, when he used to touch her. She slowly slipped away form all her comfort around him, and he could literally see the liveliness drain out of her face, and the sparkle die out of her eyes.
It was the saddest thing he had ever before seen. She was blocking him out, and he was making HER afraid. It was all his fault.
"Alyssa, baby..." he placed two strong hands on her sides. He could feel her body tremble at his touch... He pulled away quickly as she pointed to the door.
"Leave....PLEASE," He watched in disbelief as she pointed to the door. He slowly walked away closing it behind him. he leaned against the frame pressing his head against the hard wood. He could hear her crying, and he walked away when he couldn't bare it any more.
Alyssa slid down the length of the wall, hugging her knees to her chest.
"I Love you..." She whispered softly, crying in loud desperate sobs.
