“Christina, I’m heading out.” Brian shouted to his girlfriend of two years.
“Where you going?” She asked curiously.
“I’m heading out to Kevin’s.” He shared.
“OKAY! Tell him and Kristin that I said HELLO and so does the doggies!” She exclaimed.
“You want to go?” Brian asked.
“Honey, you know I’d love to but I got to clean the house and my favorite TV show is on tonight. You know I can’t miss an episode of the Simpsons.” Christina explained.
“All right. Buh-Bye Babes.” Brian said as he left.
*DING DONG*
“Kris, You getting the door?” Kev asked. She smiled as she poked her head out from the kitchen.
“If I haven’t yet, I doubt I will.” She replied.
“Okay, I get the point. I’ll get the door.” Kevin responded.
“Hey Kev.” Brian said. Kevin opened the door and let him in.
“Brian? This is the fourth night you’ve came over this week.” Kevin noticed.
“I’m sorry. She’s driving me nuts.” He shared. He sat on Kevin’s black leather couch and set his head in his hands.
“It’s not that I don’t like your company. I don’t mind. But you can’t keep going on like this.” Kevin advised.
Brian sniffed, “I know. I just want to fall in love so bad. I mean, what if this is as good as it gets?” He asked, looking up to reveal his watery eyes.
“B, Never, EVER settle for second best. True Love is out there. You just got to get it.” Kevin informed.
“You mean I got to dump her.” Brian stated without an ounce of emotion. Kevin nodded.
“Lissa, don’t go!” AJ shouted from his king size bed. She was slowly getting back into her black business suit and heading out.
“AJ, I told you before. NO ONE can know about us. I have to be at Em’s for dinner in 15 minutes. I can’t stay.” Lissa explained.
“As much as I love the idea of the whole secret relationship, why can’t we ever talk?” AJ asked.
“We don’t have time.” Lissa commented avoiding the comment.
“How can this be a relationship if we never talk? I just want to be with you. Is that okay?” AJ questioned.
“AJ, you are 21, I am 26. That is 5 years apart. I’m not going to bridge the gap. If you can’t handle all I asked for in this thing, then we can end it.” Lissa shouted.
“I can’t handle it.” He murmured.
“What did you say?” Lissa asked, sounding like an angry mother.
“I CAN’T HANDLE IT, OKAY?” AJ shouted. His pain apparent in his brown eyes.
“Fine. Goodbye.” Lissa stated without an ounce of sympathy. She got into her Mercury Mystique and drove off. Brushing off the tears that decided to fall. She couldn’t date a man so young and have something actually come out of it. She pulled up to Em’s right on time and cleaned herself up in the car so no one would find out about her past fling.
“Hey Em! I’m here!” Lissa pleasantly shouted from the door frame.
“Come on in. Hannah and I are finishing our game of Mario Kart real quick.” Em shared as Hannah triumphantly stood up.
“I BEAT YOU! RAINBOW ROAD IS MINE!” Hannah shouted. Lissa smiled.
“Hey Hannika.” Lissa greeted.
“Hi Lissa!” She exclaimed.
“So where is that dinner?” Lissa asked.
“Almost done.” Em shared.
“Still on that diet?” Lissa asked as she noticed a big salad sitting on the dining room table.
Em nodded. “Hannah taught me how to make roasted Chicken. So we’ll have that and some biscuits.” Em announced.
“Sounds delicious.” Lissa complemented.
The girls all sat down.
“Crap we are missing one person.” Em noticed.
“Who?” Lissa asked.
“Amy. Cate is baby-sitting again tonight so she wanted out of the house.” Hannah informed.
“We’ll wait.” Lissa shared regretting it. And as if on cue. Amy burst through the back door.
“Sorry I’m late.” She apologized and sat down so they could dig in.
