AJ parked outside of Jackee and Em’s house and he and Jackee got out of the car.
“Thanks a bunch,” Jackee said to AJ as they stood by the front door. “I had a great time.”
“Me too,” AJ said with a smile. He kissed Jackee lightly on the lips and then stood back a little, admiring her.
“Wanna stay here for the night?” Jackee asked flirtatiously.
“Sure,” AJ said with a sly smile.
“Okay, quiet though…Em’s probably sleeping,” Jackee said as they walked inside. Jackee shut the door quietly and tip-toed across the front hall and by the living room.
“Did she leave the light on in the living room?” AJ asked quietly as they made their way upstairs.
Jackee shrugged and walked back to the living room, with AJ following behind. There was a small light left on in the corner of the room. It took a moment for their eyes to adjust to the lighting, but once they did AJ and Jackee could clearly see two figures sitting on the couch, involved in a heavy make out session. AJ and Jackee quickly ran up to Jackee’s room, shutting the door behind them.
“Oh my gosh!” Jackee whispered. “Did you see that?!”
AJ nodded, “Yeah…who was that?”
“Are you blind?! That was Em and Brian!” Jackee said excitedly.
“You’re kidding!” AJ said.
“Dead serious!” Jackee said with a grin. She giggled and walked over to her dresser, taking her pajamas out. “I’m gonna get changed…” Jackee said as she headed towards the adjoining bathroom.
“Okay,” AJ said.
Jackee smiled closed the bathroom door.
AJ looked around the room, taking in all the things her hadn’t noticed last time he was in her room. She had a large stereo system in the corner by her king size bed. Stacked near the stereo system was a large collection of CDs.
The sky blue walls were covered with posters, which she had brought from home, of all different bands and artists.
AJ walked over to Jackee’s dresser, there were about 8 various picture frames on top of it that she had also brought from home. There was one picture of Jackee with her parents. There was one with Jackee and a big group of her friends at the beach and several of Jackee and Em in various wacky poses. There were also a couple scenery pictures from vacations. The one that caught AJ’s eye was a picture of Jackee with some shady looking guy who looked like he was about 5 or 6 years older than she was. AJ picked up the picture and studied it intently, wondering who the guy was. He figured it was a past boyfriend, but then why would she still have his picture in her room? AJ looked at the date that was in the corner of the photo, it was taken only a few weeks ago. This confused AJ even further; was Jackee dating someone else?
Jackee walked out of the bathroom, wearing a silky blue pajama set.
AJ quickly put the picture back down.
“Looking at my pictures?” Jackee asked, catching AJ just before he put the picture back.
“Umm…yeah,” AJ said.
Jackee walked over to her dresser, putting the picture AJ had been looking at back where it belonged on her dresser.
AJ cleared his throat, “So uh…who’s that?” he asked nervously.
“Who’s who?” Jackee asked.
“That guy in the photo with you,” AJ said sternly, now becoming slightly annoyed. “If it’s another guy you can just tell me…it’s probably better you say it now than later.”
Jackee began laughing hysterically.
“What?” AJ asked, not amused.
Jackee pulled herself together, “How cute!” she said pinching AJ’s cheek.
“What are you talking about?” AJ asked, more confused than ever.
“You’re jealous!” Jackee said with a smile.
“I have a good reason to be!” AJ said, his voice raising slightly.
Jackee giggled, “Calm down AJ…that’s my brother…”
“You never said you had a brother,” AJ stated, still not ready to let his guard down.
“You never asked…” Jackee said with a smile.
AJ sighed. “It’s your brother?”
“Step brother,” Jackee said. “He’s like a best friend to me.”
“Right…” AJ said quietly. He sat down on the edge of Jackee’s bed, completely embarrassed.
Jackee said down next to AJ, “Were you really jealous?”
“A little worried I guess,” AJ admitted.
Jackee smiled, “You don’t need to worry about that AJ…you’re the only man I need.”
AJ smiled slightly.
“So, are you staying in the guest room tonight…or in here?” Jackee asked.
AJ looked at her in shock, “I can stay in here?…With you?”
Jackee nodded, “Yeah.”
“Are you sure…I mean with everything that went on last time…” AJ said.
Jackee shrugged, “That’s all in the past. You just need to promise to stay on your side!” Jackee said jokingly.
AJ laughed softly, “Promise.”
Jackee got up off the bed and unmade it. AJ stood up and walked into the bathroom to get undressed and wash up. Jackee grabbed her favorite stuffed animal and crawled in bed, snuggling under the covers, and waited for AJ. Moments later AJ walked out of the bathroom, wearing only his boxers, and got in bed next to Jackee.
“Turn out the light please?” Jackee asked, pointing to the lamp by AJ’s side of the bed.
AJ turned out the light and got under the covers with Jackee, wrapping his arms around her waist. “Goodnight,” AJ whispered as he gave Jackee a kiss.
“’Night,” Jackee said with a smile as she closed her eyes.
~*The Next Morning*~
Jackee and Em sat at the kitchen table eating breakfast and enjoying how quiet the house was. They knew it wouldn’t be quiet for long though, the guys would probably wake up any time soon.
“So, how was your night?” Em asked with a devilish grin.
“Fun…” Jackee said with a smile.
“What’d ya do?” Em asked.
“We went out to the beach and had this beautiful dinner,” Jackee said with a dreamy sigh.
“What else did you do?” Em asked.
“Not much…” Jackee said as she ate her cereal.
“You must have done something…” Emily said innocently. “Perhaps AJ?”
“Em!” Jackee yelled in shock. “I hardly know him.”
Em giggled. “I’m just playing with ya…but you must have done something. I mean, he slept in your room right?”
“It was totally innocent though,” Jackee said truthfully.
“Darn…” Em said, hoping for Jackee to have something interesting to talk about.
“But, we are an official couple now,” Jackee said.
“Yay!” Em said childishly.
Jackee laughed and continued eating. “So, I bet you and Bri had fun last night,” Jackee said knowingly.
“What do you mean?”
“AJ and I saw you guys when we got home,” Jackee said.
Em blushed slightly and giggled.
“Anything interesting happen that I don’t know about?” Jackee asked with a grin.
“Well, let’s just say both you and I had a very fun night…in an innocent sort of way,” Em said with a smile.
Jackee giggled and there were a few minutes of silence as they both returned to eating their breakfast.
“OH! Guess what!” Jackee said excitedly.
“What?!” Em asked in the same excited tone as her eyes lit up.
Jackee opened her mouth and stuck her tongue out to reveal her chew up Golden Grahams. (JN: I do that ALL the time to peoples!)
“Eww! Gross!” Em shrieked, covering her eyes.
Jackee laughed at her little joke and shrugged her shoulders. “It was only innocent fun.”
