Emily and I finally met up later that day after Brian dropped Emily off at home and AJ did the same with me. We decided to get some junk food and rent movies with only the hottest actors and spend the day on the couch. Through most of the first movie we sat and talked about how awful last night had been for each of us.
"At least your story had a happy ending," I pointed out after we had both finished telling our story.
"I guess," Emily said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Well, you kissed Brian," I pointed out.
"Year end you kissed AJ that doesn't make a happy ending," Emily stated.
"Good point," I said, grabbing some popcorn from the bowl that was seated between us and shoved it in my mouth.
"Your ending was semi-happy though," Emily said.
"I suppose," I agreed. "But then if mine was semi-happy yours was too."
Emily thought about that for a moment. "I take it back we both had a really awful time."
I laughed, "So true but at least we know it can't get any worse than that, right?"
Emily was just about to answer when the phone rang. "I think you spoke too soon," she sighed.
We both sat there and stared at the phone, kind of expecting that it might miraculously answer itself. "You gonna get that?" Emily asked.
I shook my head, "You get it."
"You're closer," Emily said.
I stuck my tongue out at her childishly, as I picked up the phone. "Hello?"
There was a short pause.
"Hi is Emily there?"
It was Brian.
"Sure hold on," I said. I pulled the phone away from my ear and covered the mouthpiece with my hand. "It's for you," I said in a hushed tone.
"Who is it?" Emily asked.
"Take a guess," I said.
Emily sighed and took the phone, "Hello?"
I paused the movie and watched Emily closely, waiting to see what she was going to say to him.
DING DONG (Stop making fun of the lame sound effects! Don't deny it! You know you're all laughing! SHUT UP! whoa, sorry little outburst)
I sighed and stood up from the couch walking over to the front door. I looked out the window next to the door. AJ was standing on the front step, looking around.
"Oh yeah, like this isn't planned," I said to myself. I opened the door, trying to make myself look as happy as possible. "AJ, hi!"
AJ offered a tight lipped smile, "Hey mind if I come in?" I opened the door for him to step inside.
He walked straight into the kitchen, noticing that Emily was on the phone in the living room.
I closed the door and walked into the living room. I made eye contact with
Emily and she nodded her head, knowing that I wanted her to tell me all the details later. I smiled and headed towards the kitchen. AJ was sitting on a bar stool at the island. I walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed myself a can of soda.
"Want anything?" I asked AJ.
He shook his head, "Just sit down," he said quietly. I put my soda on the counter and walked over to AJ, taking a seat next to him.
"I just wanted to get another chance to clear up everything that happened last night," AJ said sincerely.
"You don't have to do that," I said, shaking my head.
"Yeah, I do," AJ said.
"Well, now really isn't a great time," I lied.
"I know I wanted to go someplace private where we could talk," AJ said. "Is tomorrow night good for you?"
I nodded my head.
"I'll pick you up at seven and we can get something to eat and head back to my place to talk," AJ suggested.
I looked at him, wondering if it was such a great idea for us to go back to his house. (EN: Now I know Jax is making you all think about sex, but if you can't handle it go back to watching AJ, that isn't sexual related in any way, *giggles*)
"Or we could just go to dinner?" AJ asked, sensing my nervousness.
I shook my head, "No there's too much going on at a restaurant. It would probably be best for us to go back to your house or someplace more private."
"Okay, great," AJ said with a smile. He gave me a quick hug, "I've got to go I'll see you tomorrow night."
"Okay," I said with a small smile. I sat there and watched as AJ showed himself out.
