Chapter One~Returning Home

(Paris)

“I’m going to miss you!” Yvette Carlson said, throwing her arms around Alyssa Morgan’s neck. Alyssa chuckled.

“We’ll share a dorm next year. I promise.” Yvette nodded.

“Have fun in Florida!” Yvette called out as Alyssa grabbed her duffel bag and headed out the door. Alyssa sighed as she took a cab to the airport. So much had changed in the past year. Alyssa had changed her major to creative writing, deciding that she wanted to write book instead of reporting or being a journalist. After meeting Jean-Paul Marquis on her way to Paris, Alyssa had decided to make an effort to get over her fear of commitment, and now they were in love. Jean-Paul was meeting her at the airport.

“Alyssa!” Jean-Paul called out as she walked into the airport. Alyssa smiled, her lips grazing his cheek. “Our flight is boarding.” Jean-Paul said when they pulled apart. “Our row was just called.” Alyssa grabbed her duffel bag and the couple boarded the plane. As they took off, Alyssa had no idea what she was going to do when she saw Ryan.

“I’M GETTING MARRIED!” Julie screamed. Her friend Taylor had to laugh at her friends silly antics.

“I KNOW!” Julie giggled and continued packing her suitcase. “When we get to Orlando, there’s this bridal store that I want to go to. I found the perfect dress.” Taylor nodded.

“Girl, you are LUCKY! You’re going to be a famous pianist, and you’re marrying Josh Ridgely, who might I add is extremely hot. You have everything a girl could ever want.” Julie smiled.

“I know I’m lucky.” Julie paused.” I just wish Alyssa had kept in touch.” Taylor nodded.

“It must be hard living on the other side of the world.”

“We better go.” Julie and Taylor headed to the airport and boarded their plane. Josh was already in Orlando staying with Ryan. Julie sighed, wondering what it was going to be like seeing her friends again.

“I can’t believe you guys are getting married.” Ryan Brennon said, shaking his head is disbelief. Josh Ridgely laughed.

“Me either.” He shifted in his seat. “It’s only been six months since I proposed.”

“Shouldn’t you guys wait? I mean you’re twenty years old and she just turned nineteen.” Josh looked down at the ground.

“We love each other. That’s all that should matter.” Ryan nodded.

“It’s your choice.”

“So how are things going with you and Alexia?” Ryan shrugged his shoulders and tried not to smile.

“They’re good. Things are going great.” Josh nodded.

“That’s good. Maybe you guys will be the next ones to go to the alter.” Ryan grinned.

“I don’t know J. I’m not in such a hurry to get married.”

“I’m not--” Josh was interrupted by two people arguing.

“Well, I’m sorry that I’m no fun to be with.”

“I wanted to see Planet Of The Apes. But no, every time we go to a movie we have to see what you want to see.” Lynn Michaels and Sam Wilson came around the house and into the backyard, still arguing.

“Then go see a movie by yourself.” Lynn retorted. She saw Josh and threw her arms around his neck.

“Josh!” Josh laughed.

“Hi Lynn.”

“I missed you so much! Where’s Julie?” Lynn followed Josh over to the lounge chairs that had been set up by the pool.

“She took a different flight with her friend Taylor.” Lynn nodded. “She’ll be in tonight at nine.”

“Cool.” Lynn paused. “What’s it’s going to be like, all of us together again?” Ryan shrugged.

“It’ll be different of course. We’ve all changed.”

“I hope this works out.”

“Food!” One and a half year old Rachel cried. Trista sighed, her nerves already frazzled.

“I got it.” Craig McDonnell, Trista’s boyfriend, said. Trista smiled in relief.

“Thanks baby.” Trista said, kissing him quickly on the cheek.

“We have to go to Orlando tomorrow.” Craig nodded.

“Your sisters’ flying in tonight isn’t she?”

“Yeah but she isn’t getting in until midnight so we’ll g up there tomorrow.” Craig nodded again and kissed Trista sweetly on the lips.

“I can’t wait to meet your sister.”
