6 months later....
Madison sat on the porch and gently swung her feet as she stared at the pounding surf. Lynn’s house was right on the beach. Madison had been staying at Lynn’s house since her hospitalization. Recovery was a long road but things were getting better. Lynn offered to pay for Madison to go to college but Madison politely declined. She wanted to go to college but she didn’t want to take Lynn’s money. Madison thought about the events that had gotten her here. Her father’s abuse, her mother’s denial, a tutoring job. It had all brought her to Justin. And he stayed by her side.
“Hey.” Came a soft voice behind her. Madison turned around and saw her fiancé.
“Hey Justin.” Justin sat down and put his arm around Madison.
“Can you believe it’s almost time for the wedding?” Justin asked. Madison looked at the sunlight glinting off her ring.
“I can’t. It’s almost too good to be true.”
“Just think, the start of a brand new life.” At this thought, Madison smiled.

1 year Later.....
Madison and Justin were married that year, and the following year, they welcomed a baby girl Skylar, into their family. Justin was still going to school, so during the year they lived in Raleigh and during the summer they came home to Orlando. Skylar was a beautiful baby with brown hair and sparkling blue eyes. Josh and Riley were married and had a boy Nickolas Joshua and Jasmine was thrilled. Lynn was happy that she was a grandma and spoiled Skylar religiously. Madison's mother finally got the courage to leave her husband and testify against him in court. James Webster, after 8 years of abusing his daughter, was put in jail for life with no possibility of parole. Madison was relieved and was happy that, for once in her life, things were going her way.

16 Years Later.........
Over the course of the years, Skylar, Jasmine, and Nick were the best of friends. Jasmine was 17 and Skylar and Nick were 16 and sophomores at Walter High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Justin and Madison had told Skylar that if she popular to not let it go to her head. Skylar now had long chestnut hair, sparkling blue eyes, and an intense love for basketball. She had grown up so fast, it was hard to believe. Madison looked out the back window and watched her husband and daughter play basketball. Still energetic even at 37. Madison knew that there would be many more memories after this one. So many more.
