Chapter Two

Alyssa and Ryan sat near the edge of her pool, watching the sun set. Ryan held her but Alyssa was unresponsive. The weirder she acted, the more Ryan chose to ignore it.

"Are you okay Lyss?" Alyssa nodded, swishing her feet in the cool, clean water.

"I'm fine." Ryan shrugged his shoulders.

"You don't seem fine." Alyssa sighed.

"I feel guilty about having feelings for Brian Klein."

"Is that all? I knew you liked him."

"Well here's something you probably don't know. I'm thinking about us taking a break."

"What?"

"Oh come on Ryan. I feel guilty about having feelings for Brian and I think I need a change."

"Well, how about this. I'll give you a week to think about it. I won't call or come over and you can have time to think." Alyssa nodded.

"I'll talk to you at the end of the week." He paused and kissed her on the forehead. "I love you Lyss." As Ryan walked away, Alyssa did not reply.

Can I really break up with him? I mean, I love him. At least, I think I do. Do I? We rushed things, I need a change, I'm sick of being tied down. The list goes on and on. And I only have a week to think about it.

8:42 p.m.

I'm not going to be able to make a decision in a week.

Ryan Brennon

There's nothing wrong with me and Alyssa. She's going to have time to think about it and we won't break up. Right?

8:43 p.m.

I'm not so sure anymore.

Lynn Michaels angrily wiped away the tears that slipped down her cheeks as she continued packing up stuff in her room. It's so unfair,Lynn thought angrily.

"Lynn? Are you almost done with the packing tape?" Lynn wiped away her tears, walked to the top of the stairs, and threw the tape down. It landed on the floor with a clatter.

"LYNN!" Her father bellowed. "Do not throw things around!" Lynn stomped back to her room and slammed the door. They would never understand.

"I don't know Micheal." Trista said warily, as her and her boyfriend stoood outside Rick's tattoo shop.

"Come on Trista." Trista allowed herself to be dragged inside. Three hours, and $185.00 later, Trista walked out of the seedy shop with an intricate sun on the small of her back. My parents are going to kill me.

OK, piercing my tongue and belly button was nothing. I can take them out and the holes will go away. But a tattoo is permenant. I can't take it off. Boy am I in trouble.

Alyssa Morgan

I wonder what Trista's doing.
