Julie Holland sighed as she shifted in the lawn chair she was laying on. She was in her backyard, soaking up some sun by the pool. Lately, all Julie could think about was the kiss she had shared with her best friend Josh Ridgely.
“We’d be perfect for each other.” Julie stated. “So what’s stopping me?”
“I don’t know. You tell me.” A voice behind Julie stated. Julie turned around and saw Josh standing by the back door. He was shirtless, only wearing only a pair of board shorts and sunglasses, hiding his green eyes.
“Um, I, uh, hi Josh.” Josh laughed and sat down next to Julie.
“What’s stopping us Jules? You know we’d make a great couple.” Julie nodded.
“I’m just afraid of messing up the wonderful friendship that we have. I just--I just don’t know anymore.” Josh nodded.
“I want to try Jules. The question is, do you want to?” Julie looked down at the ground.
“I don’t know. Let me think about it.” Josh shrugged his shoulders.
“Let me know when you finally make up your mind.”

Trista called the number she knew by heart.
“Michael Slater’s room please.” There was a pause.
“He checked out this morning. I’m sorry miss.” Trista hung up. Where could he be?
“Why did he leave?” Trista said out loud. She caught sight of her bellybutton ring and it dawned on her.
“He knows I’m pregnant.” Trista shook her head. “Asshole.”

Trista Morgan
I’m seventeen, still in high school, pregnant and now alone. What the hell am I going to do?

Alyssa Morgan
Trista told me she’s pregnant. I also know that Michael split on her. I also know that she’s not the only one he got pregnant. One of my closest friends, Andrea, was Michael’s last girlfriend. Andrea now has a two year old daughter. Asshole.

Lynn Michaels sighed as she looked around her room. Her new house was nice, but she missed her friends, especially Sam.
“Are you okay Lynn?” Matt asked. Lynn nodded. Matt was a great boyfriend but Lynn still missed Sam. She missed Alyssa and Julie. Ryan had called to tell her that him and Alyssa had broken up. The thought made Lynn even more sad because they had been so happy.
“Are you thinking about your friends in Florida?” Matt asked. Lynn nodded again.
“I really miss them.” Mark nodded in understanding.
“And Sam too.” Lynn looked down at the ground. Matt left without another word. Lynn sighed. This is so messed up.

Josh Ridgely sighed as he laid by his pool. Julie was a constant thing on his mind.
“Hey J.” A voice behind him said. Josh turned around and saw Ryan Brennon standing behind him. Ryan walked over to the lawn chair next to Josh and sat down.
“How are you holding up?” Josh asked. Ryan shrugged his shoulders.
“I’ve been better. Alot better.” Ryan admitted. Josh nodded.
“I asked Julie out.” Ryan laughed.
“It’s about time.”
“I know.”
“Has she given you an answer yet?” Josh shook his head.
“She doesn’t want to mess up our friendship. I swear, not having her right now is messing up our friendship more.” Ryan nodded.
“And I miss Alyssa.” He paused. “I can’t believe we broke up.”
“Maybe you guys just weren’t meant to be.” Ryan shook his head.
“I feel it Josh. We’ll be together again someday.”

(Two months later)
“Trista, you have to tell Mom that you’re pregnant.” Trista shook her head.
“She would never understand.” Alyssa shrugged her shoulders.
“You made a mistake Trista. You need to fess up.”
“Who messed up?” A voice behind them said.
“Trista screwed up Mira. Why don’t you tell her how you screwed up?” Mira looked at Trista expectantly.
“I’m pregnant.” Trista whispered. Mira’s eyebrows raised in shock.
“I’m telling Mom.” Trista’s eyes got as wide as saucers.
“No! Mira, you can’t!” Mira shook her head.
“How far along are you?”
“Two months.”
“Have you thought about abort--”
“NO!” Trista and Alyssa cried out together.
“You’re seventeen. You can’t have a baby.”
“Don’t tell me what I can’t do!” Trista yelled. Mira grabbed her arm and dragged her to their mother’s room.
“Hi girls.” Jane said, pushing her chair away from her desk. Mira motioned to Trista.
“Trista has something to tell you.” Tears started trickling down Trista’s cheeks as she looked down at the beige carpet.
“I’m pregnant.” Shock registered in their mother’s blue eyes.
“How could you be so irresponsible?” Trista looked down at the ground.
“What are we going to do about it?” Mira asked. She seemed to enjoy this.
“You’ll live here until the baby is born. You will then get a job, save up some money, buy an apartment, and move out.” Trista nodded, wiping away the constant trail of tears that slipped down her cheeks. The disappointment in her mother’s eyes broke Trista’s heart. She had messed up her whole life.
