We've been playing some blues numbers and easy songs. We've used the school's amplification
in the room intended for long-distance homed pupils (waiting there for their
classes to start) - sometimes banging so loud the teachers had to interrupt
their classes to calm us down! Andrej has been 'Tonmeister'
and responsible for P.A.-ing school events and for playing some turntable
music in pauses beetween classes. When he's finished high school, I've taken
his place as Tonmeister,
but he kept coming back, when he had the time (and he had all the time in
the world!).
I remember
one occasion at some socialistic celebration, when I had to play yugoslavian
hymn Hej, Slovani.
Andrej had listened to some tapes before on school's mixing desk, but he
switched the speed of the tape-recorder. You could imagine all the people
in the hall standing up and listening to the start of the hymn playing
double-speed. The Headmaster
looked at us with a strange expression on his face, but I managed to correct
the mistake in a few seconds. Luckily nothing went wrong afterwards - maybe
because in the middle of that celebration we started to receive some CB-radio
station! We've done everything within our strength to avoid that,
but CB signal persisted. We just shrugged
our shoulders...
This picture
represents Andrej's love for school's P.A. equipment. I guess he's just been acting...
Is that
Roger Waters? Noooo...
