Carolyn's Cats

Carolyn is a native of New Baltimore. She is a graduate of Anchor Bay high School and Central Michigan University majoring in in physical education. She was employed 24 years in the Anchor Bay school district. She taught Physical Education, English, Reading, Spanish, and Japanese. She earned her certification in Japanese from Madonna College in 1994.

She and her husband Ray, also a graduate of CMU reside in Chesterfield Township. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. They have been members of St. John's Lutheran Church of New Baltimore since 1950 and Carolyn has served as organist for 35 years.

In 1991 Carolyn traveled to Shiga, Japan and lived with the Nakae family. In October,2000 their eldest daughter Itsuko asked Carolyn to video tape her family and friends here so she could play it at her wedding reception in Japan. She wanted all of her friends to see her in American "mom." So Carolyn asked the interfaith choir to honor Itsuko and Toshimitsu by singing Irish Blessing, which turned out very well. Itsuko in return sent a video of her wedding and the reception which the entire choir enjoyed watching.

Besides the interfaith choir, Carolyn accompanies the good Shepherd Lutheran Church choir.
