1970
George Clinton (Parliament) - producer, vocals
Bernard Worrell Jr. - keyboards
Mickey Atkins - organ
Eddie Hazel - lead guitar
Bill Nelson - bass
Tawl Ross - rhythm guitar
Tiki Fulwood - drums

Parliament actually did all of the vocals on Funkadelic's first album, but Westbound, their record company, was against giving them credit, since Parliament was still contracted to Invictus/Capitol records.

In 1972, Funkadelic went through major personnel changes. In the studio, more than 30 musicians and singers contributed to America Eats Its Young. Below are the changes of the touring band, now dubbed the "Funkadelic Main Invasion Unit" . . .

In June 1972, Tyrone Lampkin replaces Frank Waddy as Funkadelic's drummer. Meanwhile, in November, the Collins brothers and the horn section leave to form another "Funkadelic." Lawyers resolve the issue. Bootsy and the Complete Strangers are born.

Bootsy and the Complete Strangers still unofficially bill themselves as "Funkadelic" whenever convenient. Eddie Hazel is replaced on lead guitar by Cordell Mosson's buddy, Garry Shider.
