How and when did Forced Under form?
We have had a few variations of the band since Jan. 1999. Within the last 5 months we got the final line-up and are writing songs that we all enjoy.

What does the name "Forced Under"mean?
Rigs.: To me, FU (which is NOT... FUCK YOU) is derived from the combining of multiple sources... Media and Mass appeal trends have us operating below the street lines, thus, forcing us under to create our own sound...As the scene holds our head beneath the water's surface, the trauma that accompanies the thought of dying creates an unrivaled, squirming panic which shuts down all perception as we search for this will to remain alive...In essence, that's where our sound is derived...Learn to breathe the water which now consumes your lungs. Drowning against mass appeal for the sake of fractional originality.

What's new w/ FU?
Reese: Well, We are prducing a Cd soon. I hope everybody will enjoy our sound. And if it takes off, we're going on world and out of this world tour!

How would you describe Forced Under's Sound?
SObeck: We like to write songs that aren't your everyday ventures. I mean we are all bombarded by music on MTV, VH1 and local commercial radio. Even hardcore, grind and other forms of metal are sounding realy similar these days. Its like one band gets a good sound and eveyone wants that sound.
Rigs.: We call our selves METALCORE...Some may beg to differ, but with so many genres evolving, tabbing someone a particular style becomes difficult...especially when you're attempting to create your very own sound. We're derived from Metal, Hardcore, and Spoken Slam.

Can you tell me a little about your influences?
SObeck: I have a wide range of influences, from Death metal to Hardcore to Grind and old school punk. I even toss on a little jazz and r&b now and then
Dave: 80's metal, classic rock
Reese: Man, Dj they're are so many influences, I cant even begin to explain them all. I myself hav always listened to metal, but I also listen to alot of erie stuff too. I love the Doors, but I can't say they are the only influences. Just the Genre of whatever you want to call them.
Rigs.: Heavy music in general....When it comes to music, never limit the ear. I appreciate all types of music, so you should try to engulf the ear with everything possible. No matter what type of music you're creating, we're all students and teachers to each other. I respect all MUSIC

How would you describe a Forced Under live show?
Reese: Dude, that is all Pat's show. he is the best frontman I have ever seen. We all try a little, but we are pretty much in the background.
Rigs.: I want one word to do this...ENTERTAINING. With the lack of funds, it's souly US and doing our music with what we got. Hopefully, if you see FORCEDUNDER out, we're hoping that no show will be alike.

What do you get most out of playing live?
Dave: Orgasm, the sensation of burning love.
SObeck: I learn the most about our songs while on stage. All the practicing in the world doesn't amount to the way you feel when performing them for people

How do you feel before and after a show?
Dave: Elated
SObeck: I usually get a little anxious before performing. Its such a mental state.
Reese: I feel good about playing. A little anxious, but it's really not that bad. As far as after a show, Well, I guess I have a feeling of accomplishment. Like our work finally paid off.

What do you like best about being in Forced Under?
Rigs.: Most definitely, the fellas. FORCEDUNDER is made up of some good guys who get along great! That's difficult to find.

Who writes the lyrics?
SObeck: Our Cathartican Angel Rigs., The rest of us give Pat ideas and he mixes the wicked brew.

Is there a specific message behind them?
Rigs.: Sure, In all the music and spoken word. The message delivers from all angles, from personal perspectives to fictional story concepts.

Who are your all time favorite bands?
Dave: Alice in Chains, Motorhead, Led Zepplin, Ozzy and Motley Crue
Reese: I love Fear Factory, and of course old school shit like sepultura. But I'm into alot of soulfly and Type O negative. but I love mellow stuff too. Like Pink Floyd and The doors. I just love anybody that has good music. But I am an avid Insane Clown Posse Juggalo!
Rigs.: I kinda' like the question...Who do you have in your CD changer right now. Be honest! HAHAHAHA! That's a hard one...All time, AGNOSTIC FRONT, PAW, Old MAX Sepultura, Sarah Mclachlan. In my CD changer: 1.AF-"Somethings gotta give" 2. Circle of Dead Children-"Starving the Vultures" (Joe Horvath RULES, he's an icon!) 3. Lori Carson- "Everything I touch runs wild" 4. BLACK STAR, Talib & Mos Def 5. No Retreat-"Rise of the Underdog" 6. SADE-"Lovers Rock" 7. PAW- "Death to traitors" 8. Danzig 3 9. Shadows Fall-"Of one blood" 10. Sepultura-"ARISE"
SObeck: Exit-13, Deadguy, Today is the Day, The Exploited, Old Misfits, Samhain and Danzig, Dave Weckyl, Brutal Truth, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Coalesce, Pg.99, Carcass and Downset. The list is almost eternal. I will spin anything that gets my legs moving

If there was one hour left till the end of the world what would do?
Rigs.: Eat a steak, salad w/ Italian, baked potato, garlic toast...Slice of Peanut butter pie. Drink a coke, slug a beer, Load my vest up with some fave CD's for the trip, kiss my girl as we watch it all END. Would the end happen fast or slow....Someday we'll know.
SObeck: I'd wanna go down first class, play one last song and then just chill with my wife until the worlds divide. Maybe have one more dead guy lager too.
Reese: Probably call my mother. since I havent talked to her since I moved down here to Pittsburgh

Sobeck, what is 128autopsey?
SObeck: Well 128 autopsey was like a child born from the metal loin. It came to me in a vision, so I had to create it. I see so many bands and people that are the focus of their own attention. I realy want to help the scene, not trash talk anyone. So I was on the web one day and discoverd all these grind, death, hardcore and black metal stations popping up all around. I thought it would be cool to focus on the Pgh scene and start one. Unfortunately Pgh isn't crawling with heavy bands but we have our share, so I throw in a lot of other metal as well, however I try not to get too corperate since the focus is on the indie scene and promoting the underground.

What are your goals for the future?
Dave: To go as far as we can.
Rigs.: Day by day and enjoy it. It's all about the enjoyment.

Anything you'd like to end with?
Rigs.: Just support the scene! THANKS DJ!
Reese: if you like good music with feeling and realism, Forced Under is for you. If you dont, well, I feel sorry for you. We are a band that's going to be around for a long time. We will always have fresh music. It might be different from what you normally hear, but its great nontheless. And you know that genetic engineering created us, so we will never die! Unity is our power, come and join us in our fight to preserve the legacy that we call metalcore!
Dave: F.U. will take over in 2003 (ha,ha,ha)
SObeck: Quivering Quim for mayor 2001
