(Interview done with guitarist, Rob Headcase)



When did Headcase surface onto the scene?

We all formed about a year ago

Where does Headcase hail from?

We are all Scattered around Pittsburgh

What is the current line-up and everybody’s position?

Joel Galley Is our intense vocalist / Rob Heil-Guitarist / Dj Walker-Guitarist, Nick Bentzel / Drums / Alan Tuite/Bass

Are there any reasons in particular, that you chose, to call yourselves Headcase?

We all struggle with society,We all fight day to day to stay sane , we are all pretty much messed up in the head!!!!!!

Who is the driving force in the band as far the writing and promoting are concerned?

We all collaborate in writing our music, all our material is straight from all our hearts no half ass bull shit. For promoting that is credited to Rob Heil and Dj Walker , We pretty much bust our ass to get the word out.

I checked you guys out on MP3.com and listened to “Enemy Inside”, very cool stuff. How would you classify your style?

straight up fucken metal,no doubt about it!

Does Headcase have any CDs or split discs out?

We have a 5-song demo cd out now that we hand out for free. We are currently working on new material for a full length cd.

Where did you go to record and how long did it take?

Mr. Smalls Funhouse In Millvale , Engineered by Peter Beckerman, It took 4-days to record and mix but took 6 months to come out cause the money problem.

If you had to pick a cataclysmic event to describe your sound, what would it be?

We would be a Hurricane fast and heavy and destroy everything that stands in our way!

Are there any local or national acts that are influential with providing Headcase their sound?

We have a lot of Influnces such as: Slipknot, Korn, Pantera, Marilyn Manson, Machine Head, Tool, Mudvayne and many others

How would you describe your live shows?

I think we work best live for the reason that the whole band butt heads during writing stuff and the moment we step on stage we are all ONE!
Other than that we like to work with the crowd get them up for what were doing everyone in the building comes to a rise. Its all about energy and we love to push it further.

In your opinion, what type of crowd does Headcase cater too more?

I have seen a lot of different types from Old school Headbangers to skaters. Pretty much everyone in between. I hope we have a style of music that can be listened to by all types of crowds.

What goes through your mind when you’re performing on stage? Does the crowd affect your performance?

I take all my anger that I have been building up through the week and it all comes out during a show.

Are there any local acts out there, that you guys would like to jam or collaborate on projects with in the future?

We are really good friends With Shattered Soul Tom the vocalist does a song on our demo disc , For other we would like to work with would be , Camp Element, they got a really great sound, Intonation ,they just keep getting better and better, Stepup,cause I have just been hearing good things about them. I personally would like Dave Hummel formerly of Crayon Death to do a song with us, I think him and our singer would be intense together.

If you had the chance to tour with a national act, who would it be and why?

Probably have to say Korn , but there are so many more like Pantera, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Tool and Marilyn Manson.

So what lies in the future for Headcase? What are some of your goals?

We are writing new material for full length cd. Hoping to play as many shows as possible,theres just so much we want to accomplish.Pretty much trying to get our music in the right hands and have as many people as possible listen to us.

Do you have any final words you would like to share with everybody?

Headcase is all about the music that’s why at our shows you don’t see us selling anything we give it away there is no dollar amount on anything we just want to be heard!!!!!!!!!
