Outbraek
How did Outbraek come about? How'd you get your name?
Steve:We always used to party together and talk about starting a band. One day, we actually did. Not quite sure how the name came about.
How would you describe Outbraek's sound?
Steve:We bring all the syles of metal together. Speed, thrash, groove, etc. We like
to give the listeners something a little different each song, but heavy nontheless.
Who are some of your influences?
Steve:I could go on for a while. Major influences are Sepultura, Slayer, Fear Factory, Pantera, Black Sabbath, and Machine Head
Who writes the lyrics in the band?
Steve: Paul (singer) and Keith (bass; back-up vocals).
What do you like best about being in Outbraek?
Steve:We really have a lot of fun. We're all friends outside of the band, and we have a great time writing music and performing it.
How would you describe Outbraek's live show?
Steve:We like to keep the crowd moving and having fun. Words alone can't describe it. You'd really have to see for yourself.
How do you feel before and after you play a show?
Steve:Before a show we all feel pretty anxious. (Not nervous, but excited) And after a show, we all feel the need to get really drunk.
What do you think makes a good show?
Steve:Audience participation makes a great show. When the crowd likes what they hear, we build off of them. Likewise, they build off of us too.
What do you think makes a bad show?
Steve:Playing in front of people who seem to care less. The crowd is a major part of a good show.
Do you have a favorite show that you've played?
Steve:That's a tough one. Our last show with Forced Under two weeks ago was pretty fun.
Who's your top 5 favorite bands?
Steve:Pantera, Fear Factory, Tool, Slayer, and Sepultura.
What's your favorite style of metal?
Steve:I pretty much like it all.
What are your future goals and plans for Outbraek?
Steve:Keep playing bigger and better shows. Our first CD is almost finished so we'll get it out there for people to listen to. We also plan on going out of state to play shows.
Anything you'd like to end with?
Steve:Outbraek has and always will stay true to there metal roots. It's hard for words to describe us, come see it for yourself. Keep your eyes open for upcoming Outbraek shows and help keep heavy music alive in Pittsburgh
