TimeXpired

How long has TimeXpired been around?
JEFF: As a whole only about 4 months, but the idea was born about 5 years ago.
cool, what does the name "TimeXpired" mean? is there a story behind it?
JEFF: Awhile ago, ex-guitarist Walt Linn and myself were in the North Side checkin out cd's. At the time our name was to be Rigormortiz, we found out the name had already been taken. As we walked to the parking lot Walt looked at the parking meter and said,"your times expired". We just looked at each other and realized that would be our new name, "TimeXpired"
How would you describe TimeXpired's sound?
JEFF: Most would catogorize it as rapcore. I would like to think there is more of a hardcore influence though. We personally are influenced by anything from rap to metal to hardcore.
Tell me about your influences
JEFF: We really have odd influences, drummer Jason Cribbs is more into classic rock, guitarist Dave Palmer is more into dark metal, while bassist Mike Johnson is into 80's metal and rap, and I'm more of a hardcore kid.
So whats new with TimeXpired?
JEFF: We're coming to the completion on our debut cd "Violated", it will be released by Pit Crew Records in December. Until then we're just playing every show possible.
How would you describe a TimeXpired show?
JEFF: energy, pure fuckin energy.
Do you have a favorite show?
JEFF: We've played alot of good shows, it's hard to pick one. About 2 years ago, we played a show at Laga with AFN, Social Outcast, and Built Upon Frustration. We've been down with AFN since day one, and until that day at Laga, we were used to playing Jam Nights together. The turnout was amazing, and for the first time we started to realize that we could make an impact, and that felt good.
What was your most embarassing moment on stage?
JEFF: One night we played the 31st Street Pub with Allan and Cycle of Rejection. I was into it so much that I fell off the stage backwards. At the time I thought I hid it pretty well, until I viewed the video tape the next day and realized how bad it really did look. In my defense anyone will tell you the pub's stage is real small, at least that's my excuse.
Thats pretty funny, how did the crowd react?
JEFF: I tried not to face them after it happened, so I couldn't tell you.
What are your plans and goals for TimeXpired?
JEFF: We've started playing out of town alot lately, and we're hoping the release of the cd will help us get to the next level. We want to get out there and hopefully bring some notice to the Pittsburgh heavy scene. There's alot of good bands out there who don't get heard because of the starving scene.
sounds good, any final comments?
JEFF: Just for everyone to realize that being in a band is not all fun, it's alot of work. And they should respect any band enough not to slander them, and to get out and support them. One band is not going to bring labels to Pittsburgh. For a band to flourish, the scene must flourish.
exactly, thanks for your time
JEFF: no problem, anytime
