RANDY BACHMAN Any Road (KOCH/BMG) Randy Bachman is one of Canada's greatest axe heroes. From his days behind Chad Allen, to his days with the Guess Who and then Bachaman Turner Overdrive; Randy carved out a sound that was rock with soul. Randy composed so many hits for the Guess Who's and among them are the classics 'Undun' & 'American Woman'. On Any Road Randy asked some close friends on board. Yes fellow Canadian's Neil Young and Margo Timmins (Cowboy Junkies), and added to the line up is Randy's wife Callianne on 'Overworked & Underpaid'. His hot back-up band are Billy Rea 'Crash' Chapman on drums and Richard Cochrane on bass. My favourite tracks off this cool album are 'Praire Town' featuring Margo & Neil, 'I Wanna Shelter You', '15 Minutes Of Fame' and the song that incorporates all the classic Bachman elements 'One Night In Texas'. The guitar solo on 'One Night In Texas' really sends me. Randy has never lost his edge, and he composing as good as he ever has. Gazz Click on album image to see larger album cover
