BASIA Clear Horizon (The Best Of Basia) (Sony Music) Basia features the combined talents of vocalist Basia Trztrzelewska and multi-instrumentalist Danny White, both formerly of the Latin influenced group Matt Bianco; which was the combined brainchild of vocalist Mark Reilly, Danny and Basia. Basia and Danny both quit Matt Bianco after the widely acclaimed Whose Side Are You On album (that includes the gems 'More Than I Can Bear', 'Half A Minute' (live version included on this compilation) and 'Get Out Of Your Lazy Bed') to record their 1987 debut Time And Tide. Both Basia and Danny share song-writing credits, and this continues in the successful Matt Bianco mould. Basia displays her extraordinarily powerful vocal technique during 'New Day For You', and also on 'Astrud', that features a Stan Getz influenced saxophone solo from Steve Gregory; and 'Astrud' is a delightful tribute to the Brazilian queen of song Astrud Gilberto.
