BEHZAD Strings Of Desire (Elite) This particular CD is probably one of the best I own in this genre: Nouveau Flamenco. Behzad, generously, allows his audience to reap the benefits of his background and training. Whereas the tracks all contain the traditional Spanish sounds, the warm Middle Eastern melodies interweave themselves to render the softest, most beautiful tapestry I've every experienced. Please listen to Track 5. You will know what I'm talking about. I recommend this CD, highly, to anyone who wants to treat all of their senses. Behzad takes you on a ride where every one of your senses is enlivened and treated delicately and lovingly. Both of Behzad's CD's are in the CD changer in my car along with Paco de Lucia, Gino D'Auri, Juan Martin and Strunz and Farah. I've listened to Behzad's music almost everyday for 2 months straight and each time I find something new to fall in love with. I've given the CD's to many people and they've thanked me again and again. I'm done worrying about what gift to buy people! Behzad's music provides the perfect balance and variety between tradition and innovation, joy and melancholy. The music is accessible and fresh whether you're new to flamenco or even a musician yourself. I believe you can hear the origins of Flamenco in the works on this CD, from the earliest origins in India to Persia and on to Spain. There are passionate, fiery pieces and other, more mellow and contemplative pieces. The use of flutes, panpipes and strings add to the multicultural sound of this CD. I am also reminded of Armik or Shahin and Sepehr; if you like their work you will like Behzad. Behzad is up there among the best guitar players in the new age music arena. A powerful guitarist with a mixture of Flamingo rhythms mixed with melodies from central Middle East. A relaxing melody, which I could listen to for hours. Go Behzad, You have done it!
