BLUE TRAIN www.crosswinds.net/~bluetrain Blue Train was originally formed in 1991 by founding members sax player Chris Mason-Battley and keyboard player Alan Brown. They performed a mix of Jazz & Blues and started writing original material. After hooking up with drummer Jason Orme and bass player Matt Gruebner, they released a self-funded, self-titled album in 1992 and so gained a following.
BLUE TRAIN 'Electric Opposition' showcases just how tight Blue Train is. 'Outer Zone' is a street walk in a strange city and this highlights Sherriff on a moodier side. 'Nasty McFly', is a rockier performance, featuring former Blue Train guitarist Robbie Karena. 'Wrong Number' with it's soaring and drop down rhythms intertwine round Gruebner's and Orme's punch-uality. Again interesting tempo changes are the centre of the title track 'Never You Mind'. 'Second To None' would certainly make an ideal TV crime serial theme & features the big production sound of Alan Brown. 'Nine' is romance and late night dining. 'Lo Bat' features the table tennis rhythm of Orme's drumming. 'Time Apart' floats on Gruebner's swimming basslines. 'Tip Toe' showcases a bopping Sherriff. Never You Mind is a jazz album for the now and generates that in every facet! Also shown below is the award winning No Free Lunch album. |
