AFEL BOCOUM Alikibar (World Circuit/Elite) Alkibar is Afel Bocoum’s debut album. The Malian singer, guitarist and composer is the protégé of Ali Farka Toure (Ali is featured on two tracks). Recorded on the banks of the River Niger, his music is deeply rooted in the Sonrai tradition. Bocoum’s haunting vocals are accompanied by his group Alkibar, acoustic guitars, one-string fiddle (njarka), one-string guitar (hjurkel), calabash, djembe percussion and chorus vocals.
