BRAN VAN 3000
Discosis
Discosis is:
A) The paranoid fear that everyone in the club is laughing at your dance moves.

B) The very modern condition of wanting to equate your uncomplicated love of soulful dance grooves with the desire to craft timeless, meaningful songs.

C) The inspired new album by much-loved Montreal-based music collective Bran Van 3000 on the Beastle Boys' Grand Royal label.

Back in 1997, Bran Van 3000 released Drinking In L.A. Throwing elements of hip hop, soul, techno, trip hop, country, punk and rock into the debut album that followed it, Glee" achieved the rare double whammy of receiving both commercial and critical success. Hosted by director/DJ James Di Salvio, the core group has been pared down to a trio of James and singers Jayne Hill and Sara Johnston with the help of many esteemed collaborators such as Curtis Mayfield, Voussou N'Dour, Dimitri from Paris, Eek-a-Mouse and Big Daddy Kane.

The first single 'Astounded' features the vocal sounds of Curtis Mayfield that glide over Latin-tinged disco rhythms. A popular track with student radio, the 12' includes remixes by MJ Cole and Eric Kupper.
