ERIC CLAPTON
ERIC CLAPTON
Reptile
(Warner/Reprise)
Reptile takes it's cue from Eric's collaboration with blues legend B.B. King (Riding With The King); and features most of the same musicians i.e. Joe Sample (The Crusaders), Andy Fairweather Low; with guests Paul Carrack (Mike & The Mechanics), Doyle Bramhall II, Billy Preston and The Impressions.

Reptile includes the romantic 'Don't Let Me Be Lonely' (James Taylor), the popular 'Ain't Gonna Stand For It' (Stevie Wonder), and a jazzy title track. Eric is never far away from the blues and 'Got You On My Mind' (Big Joe Turner) and 'Come Back Baby' (Ray Charles) confirm this. J.J. Cale is one of Eric's favourite musicians (After Midnight, Cocaine), and 'Travelin' Light' is pure Cale.

Whether you count Eric's early years with The Yardbirds, John Mayall, Cream, Derek & The Dominos, Blind Faith, or his solo years as his greatest works, there is no disputing that Eric is an innovative rock survivor.
